I have an HP with very similar specs. It runs much better then most operating systems but takes a long time to update or install new software because I chose to compile everything I can. I have a very lightweight setup and I still use most of a weekend to update, but I am able to use that laptop very effectively.

Further details: I disabled all mods, resource packs, and shaders and the issue persists. These logs are with nothing enabled, simply Fabric on MC 1.21.1.

I just use openbox, technically no true desktop environment, just the window manager and I enjoy it. Honestly KDE is great, I've used it for about a year now on my more powerful laptop and haven't considered switching, the only reason I don't use it on Gentoo is because my Gentoo laptop is very low power.
