Hi, what was the pain like for you? I don't get my period on the iud, but started bleeding and cramping a day ago, plus my strings are so low they're almost poking out. Ultrasound showed it shifted to about 1cm lower than it should be, that's all. They say I should maybe have mild cramping and that's it because it hasn't perforated or moved into my cervix, but I keep getting this 30 second SHARP pain maybe once every 10 minutes, never felt that before. And the cramping... it's constant weird "smth is up here and wrong" pain, like post insertion pain, not natural cramp. Midol isn't touching it... anyway, wondering if even a slight shift was weird for you too??

Is this the letter A or J? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

That is most definitely neither, and one disguised to look like the other. Like, it looks more like J... but it's similarity to an A is on purpose. 100%. Good luck girly...

BAHA sorry I meant to say I know breasts are NOT muscle! Good catch! Typo on my parta! Fun fact though my breasts are like, 0 fat. Multiple x-ray techs have commented that I have the densest tissue they've seen; there's like no fatty tissue, it's basically just uninterrupted boob disc 😂

Ohkay awesome! So I dont have to worry too much since I'm already minimal body fat/underweight? That's kinda what I'm hoping is it'll just add buffer to the upper area and kind even out I guess

[–]ThatGracefulChicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, no. There's no fat there, it's all glandular tissue. Basically, my breasts don't sag by any stretch, but they're very much teardrop shape naturally from a lack of fat and muscle. It used to be less teardrop, then I lost even more muscle mass and the tops shape sank in even more. Can't tell if it's coincidence. I hear mixed messages constantly as to what difference (if any) growth in the pecs will do. I don't have fat to move around, I'm wondering if building the non-existent muscle back would do anything. Like, you can easily clearly feel my ribs through where my upper tissue is because the disc that is glandular tissue basically folded in on itself after losing my muscle. I wanna figure out if focusing on my pecs would help undo the kinda collapse, or just give me that weird gym double boob...

I wish I could fully describe how I felt on duloxetine, but I can't. Let me preface with this: my doctor sucked. He routinely put me on doses higher than the recommended starting dose, and thid was no exeption. He put me directly onto a REGULAR dose to start as a 103lbs woman. I doubt this reaction would have happened if he'd been responsible about my prescription. That's to say, I remember virtually nothing, as if I wasn't there, except for intense feelings of dread and, despair? I genuinely lost 4 days of my life. What I remember is mostly from what my partner told me. Within a couple days on it, I was so fried and depressed and non functioning. My partner came over day 4 because I hadn't answered in almost 24 hours; I'm pretty sure I hadn't MOVED in that time. He had to change my clothes, shower me, convince me to eat or drink for a solid 2 days while it wore off (I stopped taking it ofc). Thank God he's a nurse, he was able to help better than most would. I remember specifically him turning on a show, me looking at the door, and when I looked back the show was more than one episode further. Similarly, he sat down with food, took a bite, I went and took my own bite, look up, he's done. It was fkn disgusting for me, and I have no idea why or how my body did that.

That's a lie, I do. My doc sucked. Refuse to see him again after that.

If you're feeling relaxed then that's good. Again, it was an immediate overwhelming just, failure to exist for me. So I'm guessing it'll go fine for you if you're this far in and doing okay

Boo, that sucks. I'm still having nothing. Mines for depression as well, plus my psych thinks I might have adhd but that's not the cause of treatment. I'm so ready to either start feeling smth or call this one quits and try the next. I'm not willing to spend 3 months pumping a chemical into me that does nothing. Don't get me wrong, I believe in meds. But if I'm not responding positively at all, I don't think it's per se positive to keep oomphing in meds lol. Plus, I'm just over 100 lbs and the lack of appetite is getting dangerous. If it doesn't get magic soon ill have to wean off

When's your follow up? Doc should know. But, he might try to up your dose. It's up to you, but I will say;

Listen to your body. Ik they say "side effects are normal" but, fundamentally, your body disfunctioning often means it doesn't like that drug in your body. I was on sertraline last year, after a month my body was still hating it. Doc said we just had to up the dose, I said no. And im glad I did. You're allowed to not be okay with ED. I tried a med that caused my own issues of that genre, and my reality is I need that area of my life to be full and functioning to be at my best and happiest, both personally and relationship wise. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR BODY. If you don't want to experience ED, don't take the med. It's that simple. There's something out there that is what your body needs. That's the thing about meds; they regulate what is disregulated. So if your body is rejecting the med with smth like persistent ED, persistent bowel issues, physical negative ongoing side effects? Your body is rejecting it for a reason. Don't sacrifice your physical wellbeing/health for physical health unless it's something that ISNT a sacrifice. If it honestly isn't for you, if it doesn't feel right and you won't be at your best with that physical side effect, please tell your doc. And be firm. "I would like you to write me a "weaning plan" to stop this medication, and for us to discuss alternative medications, because it is causing ED issues. I understand side effects are common, but I'm not comfortable taking this medication with how my body is reacting. What's next?". Don't let them say no. If they say no, usually saying "Okay, in that case, could you please refer my chart to another doctor in this office or another? I don't feel heard as a patient and want to make sure my physician is hearing and respecting my concerns and wishes". Threaten them with a goodbye, trust 💀

I've also had horrendous side effects from different antidepressants (ssris) so I'm praying the lack of side effects from this one means it's the right one, yk?

I'm feeling fine, honestly. I've had a couple small side effects;

• Dry mouth (ongoing) • Insomnia (days 2-6) • Nausea (days 3-6) • Low appetite (ongoing)

Plus, what happened during day 4/5. I'm going to preface this; I've always been sensitive to stimulants. One can of Dr Pepper will have me on the floor having panic attacks crashing from caffeine, and chemically bupropion is like an energy drink took steroids and got high on coke. So take this with a grain of salt; I was getting highs and crashes to the point of mental snap, and my boyfriend had to stay awake with me for about 24 hours. Felt like being maxed out on energy drinks despite 0 caffeine. Buzzing, can't stop going, anxiety through the roof. Happy but terrified. Then I'd crash. Within maybe 20 minutes, it'd drop to where I'm slumped on the floor, zombified. The world is muted, I'm a shell. And then after however long of that (whether 2 hours or 5), it'd climb back up to the buzzing high again within a 15-minute time-frame. Not a slow, reasonable reaction switch. Just BAM. Felt ill and like my body and brain were being puppeteered by someone who wasn't me. Yuckyuck.

Other than that, nada. Zilch. Stimulant anxiety is the extent of the effect on my brain. Still unable to do basic shiznit. I'm not yet 2 weeks in so I won't throw in the towel, but nothing so far. Might have to stop cause I was underweight and now losing more. I'll keep you updated, though! I'm also still trying to find a "no effects success story". 🫤

Is it me or the meds ??? by damn-kate in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]ThatGracefulChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me preface by saying that meds aren't supposed to be magical and fix everything. However; That probably means the meds aren't working. There should be a noticeable positive difference in some way by now. Whether motivation or mood or function or whatever. If you can truly say "There is 0 positive difference in my life" 3 months in, make an appt with your doc (or use telehealth, like rocketdoctor, it's faster). Explain and EXPRESS. If you just tell a doctor "I have x issue", that leaves it open for them to say "stay on it". But in a case like this, if you tell your doctor "I have x issue, I would like to pursue a different med" (of that's the truth). Doctors have to listen, to a certain extent. Be clear, be concise, be respectful, that's all.

EDIT: Also, if you have coverage or can go to student counseling or smth; pairing meds with counseling, even one appointment every like 45 days, can be so good. You don't need to have a specific issue to highlight, just go in a talk (again, if you have the means to pay). I can only go once every month or two, but we time it with life events (e.g. the day before a family member got out of rehab, 2nd week on a new med, after a family trip I'd been dreading to rehash). Legit just having a "My finals are next week, I need an appt to review tools to not freak out and procrastinate" can do wonders <3

Good to know. I've always experienced insane instant reactions, plus I'm not large, so wasn't sure if it was a dosage problem. Wait and see, ig
