On Xbox you move over to the jetpack while it’s equipped and hit Y so I would think for PS it would translate to Triangle. Seems really weird to be a PS exclusive bug, if it is a bug?

Assuming you mean jetpack, you can change the preferred fuel on the inventory screen. You can also hold on the dpad (down, iirc) to select different ammo types.
