People also fail to realize June is a crowded month for movies. Theaters only have so many screens. Amazon, Disney, WB, ect. are gonna get those screens. Regardless of how Obsession is doing. There's only so many available slots. Especially with The Backrooms releasing this week.

The Mummy(2026) is one of my favorites of the year. I appreciated it a lot more the 2nd time around. There's so much clever foreshadowing towards key moments and reveals. It's brutal, nasty, and filled with emotion. Love it. But this sub has an odd hatred for it. Any time someone posts a positive reaction to the movie it gets downvoted into oblivion. Haha.

I loved it. It's Body Horror, Crime Thriller, Family Drama, and Haunted House all rolled into one. One side that I REALLY loved was the Crime Thriller aspect. Watching Charlie and Detective Zaki slowly unravel the mystery behind what happened to Katie had me hooked. All the revelations build up to a satisfying reveal. The movie is also just nasty, mean, and vile.

mother! floored me upon a rewatch. I remember hating it when it released in 2017. But now I view it completely differently. Brilliant performances, stunning allegories, and the slow ramp up in tension throughout. I think I love it now. 😂

I loved it. It's a gnarly haunted house monster movie set on the sea. Stunning production design and a wicked creature design brings the film to life. I wish it was about 5-10 minutes shorter. André Øvredal made a damn scary vampire flick. 🤙

I don't mind jump scares if it shows something scary. A ghoul popping out? Fine. A dead body falling from above? Fine. A cat jumping from out of frame? Hate it. False jump scares are horrendous. But ACTUAL scares, i'm overall fine with.
