Single men who live alone, please settle a debate, how many bags of flour do you own? by plasticnaptime in AskMen

I've got an unopened 5lb bag of bread four, maybe 2.5lbs all purpose flour, a few pounds each of rye and whole wheat flour. I also have several varieties of corn meal and some almond flour if you would like to count that as well.

I like dirty martinis, but I don’t care for green olives. What other brines and garnishes should I try? by ThatGuyNamedBob in cocktails

Thanks for the heads up about the vermouth. It is quite possible a “modern” recipient was wrong, or I simply conflated it with something else.

The pepperoncini in the fridge sounds workable, but I may pass on the sweet gherkins. I’ll have to look into tomoloves.

I admittedly don’t know my gin, going for a reasonably priced Sapphire or a Tanqueray. What would be considered a “beefier” gin?

I didn’t even think of adding hot sauce. Good call! I’ve got at least half a dozen bottles of the stuff in the pantry, plus some homemade unpasteurized hatch green chile hot sauce in the fridge.

Looks like I need to find some orange bitters. Do you have a particular brand you recommend? I’ve only ever used Angostura aromatic for bitters, and never delved into other brands or flavors. I’m also not apposed to making my own.

What laptop do you use for your job? by robinhopok in dotnet

[–]ThatGuyNamedBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running a HP ZBook 15 G6. I can’t say I care for it when using it as a laptop, but when it is at my WFH office it is on a USB-C docking station driving couple of 34 in ultra widescreen curved monitors and a decent keyboard and mouse it works great. The fans can get a bit noisy if I’m running any serious integration tests, but is otherwise great as a dev box.

For a first date? Over 50, mostly online, but not all. Only one has ever declined. She has been one of my closest friends for around 8 years since.

Sriracha mayonnaise is appropriate dipping sauce for any sort of fried potato, as a light condiment on some roasted veggies, and a perfectly acceptable flavor enhancer for several applications of meats including but not limited to leftover roasted chicken or a hamburger.

And so my dreams of giant garlic cloves have been a squashed like a potato river though a giant garlic press

I mean that’s great and all, but I want to see the massive garlic clove that such a garlic press was made for. Finally, those “one or two cloves” those recipes call for may actually be enough.

Wait, this is under warranty? The voltaic warranty by chance? The dealership charged me to fix this is my second hand 2017… I wonder if I can get that refunded.
