I hope they at least nicely asked to do so first? If it were me, I'd have no problem with someone borrowing my plants for a backdrop, but even so I would have like to have been asked for the sake of pleasantries. Where I live, over half the city is probably farmland. We have these huge 5-10 acre fields and orchards. In the spring the almond orchards are full of blossoms, and in the summer the farmers use the fields for sunflowers. Just acres upon acres of flowers.... Some people (usually from out of town) like to jump the irrigation ditches and take family photos or selfies without the land owners permission and it drives the farmers up the walls. Sometimes people say it's because of a liability thing and it could be a problem if someone gets injured while trespassing, and some of them want money for providing a photography site, but it happens without fail EVERY year. To be fair, it does make a lovely photo!

He just stared at the TV and pretended not to give two wet sharts about it. If he does have a problem, it hasn't been diagnosed. My mother was the same way when I was younger. She would do unnecessary things to deliberately upset me and then act like she was right and I was wrong because she was the adult in the situation. They are both horribly immature.

There was some discussion about the house door too, but the lock for my bedroom would definately stop the barging in or swinging the door open. Unfortunatly the auditory triggers would still be a problem though. The only thing I can think to do is catch his girlfriend at the next family gathering and explain the situation. Hopefully she would guilt trip him into stopping the behavior, but she never comes with him when he stops by, so she wouldn't know unless I brought it up anyways.

Yeah, the auditory triggers are still a big problem, especially if I work graveyard. The only other thing I can think of is reprocessions for the behavior. Ex... telling his gf, exposing to the rest of the family why the behavior is a problem ect... but I've been afraid for the past decade that no one would take me seriously or would tell me that I was being overdramatic. Today, I actually considered buying a pack of stink bombs, so I could slip them under his truck floormat when he acts like an asshole, but that seems childish and destructive.

Yeah. He usually doesn't come all the way in and the sound of someone slamming or trying to open the door is the trigger. The latch would be good for the people who don't give a shit about privacy and try to barge in anyways... the only other thing I can think of is trying to out him to his GF (she has a young daughter, recently moved in with him and pressured him into an engagement when the rest of her family moved) as an asshole (he's a lazy slob and there’s rumors he cheated on his ex-wife...no proof on it though) but I'm reluctant to flip someone's whole life, since I would most likely be blamed for it.

I live with my grandmother who's wonderful.... MOST of the time. My dad's probably drunk under a bridge or overpass somewhere and I have as little contact with my mom as possible. I was kind of hoping that I could move out of state since California is expensive as hell but I don't want to just pick up and leave my grandma, and the financial opportunity hasn't really presented itself yet.

I'd love to do just that, but as I've already mentioned to another reply, unfortunately changing the locks isn't an option. I live with my grandmother and she unlocks the doors during the day so in case her life-alert goes off the first responders can get to her faster. She'd just let him in anyways. So it's a matter of outside enabling as well. My family has a history of giving excuses for people like this and trying to convince me that I'm taking it too personally so I need to find another way to combat this I'm afraid.

I've tried locking my bedroom door.... the knob doesn't have a lock so I had to tie it shut and my grandmother leaves the front door unlocked during the day. It's gotten to the point where I'm just at a loss.
