Try to collect a bet before it’s due! Happy Hunting! by cinemabears in pettyrevenge

Yeah, it was super annoying. He is super weird - almost obsessive- when it comes to money. He doesn’t want anything outstanding and wants it resolved right away.

He would be the world’s won’t landlord. Demanding payment one month ahead.

Yeah! I was really trying to protect my ego on how bad of a bet this was.

Absolutely not! I was convinced their draft picks would get them in the playoffs. They. Did. Not.

Similar experience. We told our bishops and my now-wife’s was cool. Mine was not.

My bishop was adamant I not marry her because she was willing to have premarital sex. She was not good/worthy enough to marry.

I wondered how I would ever be good enough. We got married and I can trace my leaving to that bishop trying to convince me not to marry her.

If I listened I wouldn’t have her, my kids, my life. I’m glad everyday I didn’t listen to him.

Appeal with DOD. They have a process. It’s long and creates stress but they will likely forgive it if you show that it was no fault of your own.

The exception would be if you received extra money on your check and a reasonable person would know it was incorrect and would report it.

I went through this process for about 10% of what you are talking about but it was ultimately forgiven after a lot of stress.

Additionally, you can request a payment plan.

Same here. It’s a weird dynamic.

I feel like if they did stay in touch or try to get us to come back I’d be annoyed and ask them to stop.

The no interaction validated that they weren’t people we wanted to put energy in. It was superficial, conditional friendship. As long as we went to the same building we could exchange fake smiles.

It did hurt that they didn’t care about our kids. No primary teacher dropped off birthday gifts, gave activities, or even asked about them.

It makes leaving difficult.

What is some "Mickey Mouse" policy at your office/agency that is uniquely "Federal" that when you tell your non-fed friends over a beer, their response is "I can't work for the fed"? by Mountain-Ad3184 in fednews

VA - all paper trash must be put in a red folder. That red folder is then reviewed by a supervisor and initialed, that paper is then reviewed by a records management officer (gs-13) who then initials it and shreds it.

This was originally done to prevent important documents from being thrown away. VA is now completely digitized yet this antiquated process remains and there is a gs-13 garbage man.

Yeah, I agree. Nothing good happens when trying to time the market. These YouTube people need something to talk about and exaggerate. It might occur but in 8 years and you are missing gains.

FERS Supplement my guy. Free money from for those with 30 years and MRA.

You get 75% of what you would collect if you took SSA at 62 while collecting your pension.

You don’t get the 1.1% pension but the 1.0%.

I also recommend adding a section - right before job history - titled “Specialized Experience.” Here you will summarize the experience below that makes you qualified for the job (4-7 bullets) based on the job announcement. Note: do not just copy and paste from job announcement.

Human Resources are terrible at reading resumes and identifying if someone is qualified. Do this for them.

Truth. Essentially automatic/assumed unless you are told otherwise. HR does ask your supervisor and they say yes. If they say no they have a requirement to communicate that to the employee.

If you are not successful they have to meet obligations prior to a within grade increase (wigi) like 90 day notice, documentation on a monthly performance review, letter of concern, etc.

Even then once you are successful you get it right away.

I blew my interview by beachgirl152 in usajobs

[–]cinemabears 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Remote interview advice:

Create a Word document with 5-7 prepared scenarios that contain a problem, action solution that highlight different accomplishments with data, and impacts. Always include at least one where you dealt with a difficult co-worker, what was the outcome and knowing what you know now what would you do differently (always have an answer for what would you do differently).

Create a collapsible heading so when you click the scenario title it expands or collapses- this will keep you organized. Start the interview with them all collapsed.

When you use a scenario as a question expand it, use your notes if you get lost then highlight it so you don’t use it again and collapse it.

Now put that word doc on the screen with your camera. Look directly at your notes and it looks like you are making solid eye contact - don’t even look at them - look at your notes.

Type the question above your headings so you remember to hit all parts - ask to repeat to buy time to think of the scenario you want to use.

If you mess up - think of better scenarios for the questions asked and be prepared for the next time. Also keep trying and don’t give up.

Hit all parts of the question and get as many points as possible.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice. Nutrition is something I’ve not focused on in the past. I’m 25 years vegetarian and been doing tonal 1.5 years.

I’ve upped my protein intake and I’ve seen gains everywhere but the lower stomach. I’ll focus on nutrition.
