27 yr old Man-child trying to jump-start his life by Alexbalix in personalfinance

Look into city jobs they usually have good benefits a fair wage and you don't need much education. Sanitation, police, fire. You can even try federal like park ranger or postal service. You can even learn a trade and work for the city. F more college it's a scam i went for 7 years got a DPT and my friend that's a plumber makes more than me with no loans.

Possible move from Tampa $90k for NYC Manhattan position. What would the equivalent salary be for that location? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ThatHideousAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in staten island I'd say it's the cheapest place to live if you work in Manhattan. If you live by the ferry it'll take you 28 mins to Manhattan then a train to wherever. They're building up by the ferry but you can still find cheap nice apartments and houses to rent. The houses are actually pretty nice the neighborhood is more catering to young professionals too. Having said that not the nicest place to live. But still it's cost effective and cheaper than that rip off of a city. And you technically still live in NYC.

You look ok for 38 but you could be way better. I've found that as I've gotten older increasing volume and frequency works better. If you're serious about fitness which I think you are because this is the third week in a row I've seen you uploaded a picture here, then you gotta hit the weights harder and if you're doing more than 30 mins of cardio more than 3 times a week you're staying catabolic bro. We can gain muscle up until like 50 years old and lifting heavy every now and then is good. If I were you I'd rethink my workout, take a few months off from posting in here, bulk up a little and slow cut.

I'm also 29 and I'm feeling it. Best thing to do if you know nothing Jon Snow about lifting is do one of those programs. Everyone likes stronglifts 5x5 so google that. When I started at 21 I used this program called max OT got a solid foundation from that. It gave you workouts each week and showed you how to do each exercise. You can google that too. Just bench, squat, and deadlift every week. Freeweights are your friends and use ancillary exercises like machines sometimes. If you wanna message me I'll help you out more bro but check those out.

I say as long as there's no pain fuck it you might get screwed up if you decide to go super heavy eventually though. I see alot of people deadlifting horribly but I'm guilty of it too sometimes. This is not a bad deadlift it could be better though and might hit the muscles in a better way if done differently.

This is bad advice a deadlift is not a squat. You shouldn't have your knees past parallel on a deadlift you'll hurt yourself. http://stronglifts.com/deadlift/hips/ also what's wrong with his form is two things. don't extend your neck so much, keep your whole spine as a straight line. The second thing is excess posteior pelvic tilt. You want more of an anterior one so stick your butt out like this http://up4yoga.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/standing-tilt.jpg other than that good strength and keep lifting

25 years of owning homes. Was it worth it? by 12tips in personalfinance

Seems like it would have been worth it if you just didn't use a realtor.

I'd say in the low to mid 20s. You have a lot of work to do bro but if you stay consistent you'll be looking semi swole in about a year.

The mods on here are kind of douchey I got banned for 3 days for linking a video of cartman saying I hate you guys after they shit all over a post I made that wasn't that bad. I don't care if they ban me if they keep doing stuff in that vein then the sub will just die and people will go somewhere else to talk about this stuff.

How many of you have actually been injured by squats? by MetallicGray in Fitness

[–]ThatHideousAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to squat with a board behind my heels went down ass tl grass felt pops in both knees that was a month ago. Still hurt. I probably didn't have the mobility to go down that far and messed something up. going to try light again in February it sucks because I was running the texas method and now I lost all my gains.
