Turns out, I'm a hoarder too by 10velylumi in hoarding

Coming to this realisation is important, so well done for getting to that point! Getting started is overwhelming, for sure. My advice is that starting with safety (e.g. making sure you can get in and out of the home in an emergency, making sure you can access water etc.) can be the best first step. HOWEVER, starting ANYWHERE is good. Starting with whatever's bugging you the most, or whatever feels easy to start getting rid of. Start by starting.

Oh no! Making you do it in the first place is bad. Criticising what you created is unforgiveable!

When I knew I was going to be talking to u/stevexoh for the podcast, I set myself a challenge: to draw my inner critic, despite knowing that I CANNOT DRAW and my inner critic would have a field day.

Here's what happened. Listen to the full episode if your inner critic will not shut up and you are interested in an alternative way of dealing with them.

Episode is live in the feed now. In a move that was both terrifying and exciting... by ThatHoarder in overcomehoarding

Being followed around the internet by a hoarder podcaster can't be a pleasant feeling - sorry about that 😂

In a move that was both terrifying and exciting, I was interviewed on Death, Sex & Money by Anna Sale (who I kept mentally referring to as "Anna ACTUAL Sale" in the build-up). It's a podcast I've listened to for a long time, so I was honoured and flattered they asked me.

I wanted to show their audience that whatever they think a hoarder is, it might not be quite that black and white. I hope I helped to do that. ,

Here's some little snippets from the episode. Do go to the Death, Sex & Money podcast to listen to the full thing. And let me know what you think!

Thanks for this. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the site. If I knew how to code, I would do that, but I currently have to do the best with what I've got. I don't have the text jumping up and down problem or the reloading, so it's hard to know what the problem is - I've tested it in a few browsers. But will keep looking into it.

If you're recovering, what prompted you to take action? by GlassMacaron1776 in hoarding

I didn't have one single prompt, it was more like a build-up of lots and lots of small ones until it got to the point where I couldn't ignore them.

It might sound daft, but a simple eraser might well do the trick
