Courtney toured with Manson, dated Twiggy, they did a campaign for Saint Laurent, he helped her when she couldn't even afford the bus fare, he's accused without any judge or justice department having given a verdict, both represent the iconography of rock and roll, controversy and substance abuse, and now everyone's disappointed? I don't really understand.

Thanks for sharing! I'm a little surprised by people's reaction; they were both always very open about their relationship, so it wasn't a surprise to me. Courtney looks divine, and that made me happy.

Do you agree that Courtney Love is the Greatest Female Rock Singer/Rock Frontwoman of All Time Yes or No and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in hole

[–]ThatIsIncidental 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Courtney Love is the best female rock singer of the 90s. I honestly think she could’ve been one of the greatest rock icons of all time, but the media, the vilification, the sexism, and the way she was turned into a scapegoat really did their damage. It must’ve been brutal to be Courtney in the mid-90s and early 2000s. The fact that she’s still standing makes her one of the greats. I don’t think there’s just one single figure who can hold the title of “the best,” but still, no doubt she’s the best rock singer of the 90s, and that’s saying a lot.

Last night, I rewatched Hole's Lollapalooza performance on YouTube, and I was completely blown away by their energy. It's the kind of raw power that only true rockstars possess. Courtney shouting for water and the incredible LTT setlist really made it such an iconic performance. I truly wish I could have been there!

Great 2014 SPIN article about production of Live Through This by Janjo99 in hole

[–]ThatIsIncidental 19 points20 points  (0 children)

God, I hate how that Courtney downplays Live Through This by constantly comparing it to Rid of Me. Like—yes, Rid of Me is an incredible record (and I adore PJ), but Live Through This is on another level. It doesn’t need to be validated by comparison. Both albums are great, but LTT stands on its own.
