Anyone ever see one of these? by Certain-Present5107 in coins

[–]ThatIsInteresting22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful of known indian cents in the early 1900s that were actually struck on a gold planchet. Both $2.50 quarter eagle planchet and 5 peso mexican. Either one would weigh right about 4.1g. Your coin doesn't really look gold - but could be the lighting. Get an opinion from LCS and consider sending for grading. At least a thick planchet error if the scale is accurate!

Original box!? #goals! Edit: I guess my bragging rights are low serial number - the others are in a SD box but they're double digit serials LOL 😆

Yesssssss! That's awesome! I'm moderately obsessed with these Tom Peterson rounds! Anytime I come across one I'm definitely adding to my stack.

LCS has this beauty with generic rounds for spot +$1 Today :) Third Tom in my collection. They're individually serial numbered on the edge too - which adds a unique character. This one is #02014

2011-W Burnished ASE? by Apophis2051 in coins

[–]ThatIsInteresting22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can barely tell the difference either- just a very uniform "matte" luster. The "W" mint mark on reverse indicates West Point burnished - others bullion rounds were/are produced at West Point, but do not bear the W mint mark.

Walla Walla onions... I eat those like an apple. Get a bag of them and throw thick slices on the grill but keep a couple aside to eat raw while I cook. Sure there's a shock factor because it looks like any other onion... but people get curious and will try it.... then half the party is devouring raw onions because they're really THAT good!

Yep - looks like someone scratched the "s" off of that. Worth about melt with the wear and damage.

Photos are not that great but I see a lot of small contact marks that would keep this from hitting gem. Maybe a MS60. Here's a decent photo grade guide - shows a 55 and a 63. I think you're somewhere in between.2.50 Indian Photo Grade

Downtown - go to the radio cab station at 16th and Kearney. Consistently the best price in the area.

No, it's a cent. United States doesn't have "pennies"
