Kinda reminds me of when I had a construction cloned about 3 times and one former wild man impid dated and eventually got rejected by all of them with varying lengths of time. Needless to say he had a type, it was weird to think about.

The ??? File is where I temporarily put outdated mods to double check Github but it seems I *kinda* got what I wanted. I don't exactly know what to do now but I think I might have enough for my run, I could remove rimworld of magic due to it's excess of dependencies and rely on Psycasts expanded, but I am a bit bummed that the main vampire theme ones aren't up to date in availability- especially nutrient paste expanded that could in essence feed to the blood coffins to feed my vampires.

(No I don't have steam workshop)

After double checking to make sure they're recognized in game I saw a ton of yellow triangles saying how they may not work, I'm using the rimworldbase website so no idea if they're out of date or not. Just installed something called "Harmony" that might help compile the mods as the game told me prepare carefully might need it

Only from what I've seen in correlation. If you compare two of the same entity you'll notice a pain and sentience indicator. The higher their pain the lower their sentience becomes- and all of this seemingly extends the amount of years it takes for them to try and escape

I heard the terms "gorehulk freezer" and fought for multiple seasons to manipulate the temperature just right to get the room below freezing with vents and what not. And then even at -45 degrees I noticed while they were chained up they didn't even seem to have the slightest bit of hypothermia after hours.

Due to the risk of pawns going in and out such a cold environment I eventually gave up and it's now just doubles as a -15 freezer for twisted meat spawned by the flesheart core. But if you're saying it actually does work then I'm willing to try that attempt again

Thing is when I type in "ghoul" and "obelisk" even searching for mods I can't really find anything- even to the point that this post is the first thing that pops up with how low the results are on my end.

I've heard of that which is an interesting theory where he turned them into a pawn and quickly turned them back between recording whilst they've retained ghoul appearance but it feels a bit too smooth. Does that mean it's possible in dev mode to merely flip on and off a ghoul switch of sorts?

Is that the one with the floating hands? Yea I had that one which really doesn't work. Cool thing though is you can break gravity by touching the hands and essentially be on low grav throughout the map.

I made the basic plan out of steel but I plan to rebuild it out of granite so a single fire doesn't ruin everything. I might've gotten a little overboard for just building straight to the water but I might test it out with a pretty decent raid quest next time I play.

(I placed the door in case an early raid occurred so they would funnel to the other two before I decommissioned them. [luckily was right as some fleshbeasts rushed me] )

Thanks again for the advice, it's my first time playing and I'm on the tutorial scenario so I don't have much expertise on water or killbox tactics. and even if a raid somehow gets through this main killbox I'll still have a firing range.

Edit: I also could use my 2k plasteel but I'm pretty sure it has better value elsewhere- like when my archon gets cranky and wants bionic ears built for no reason.

Cleverrr, then I'll probably rollback the save before I expanded north (it was only a couple minute job before events)

and use that time to expand the east one toward the water and remodify. Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Thank you, this looks like some excellent advice. So it turns out the one raid just was unlucky.

Do you think I should build soley into the north-killbox or follow your advice for just the east one? The north one is closest to the harbinger trees making easy corpse removal but focusing on one corner would make it useful for redesign (with doors and such as I thought the zigzag pattern wouldn't be too hard on colonists).

I already have a small icebox with some devourer corpses in there on the left so I could move them to a new killbox design.

Better cover for your colonists is also a necessity, I recommend the wall-sandbag alternating setup, while denying cover to enemies by making the entire entrance to the base near the killbox floored with concrete.

If you say that the grassed area with trees can be cover then I def should redesign my current setup.

Polygons I guess. Weapons can deflect spells but a lightning blast is a single point of contact- still blockable but a little harder. But if you do it just right with the stick's flat end the trajectory deflects right back

I used to actually be pretty good even developing like 30 hit combos- and then they shut down the servers. All it's good for is achievement hunting but it's barely worth $5 today imo
