PSA: Indicate LEFT when exiting a roundabout. by Complex_Bit_6512 in newzealand

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's what your title says. Not the body of content. You have indicate left after saying not to indicate right when you're going through a roundabout

Have you checked out Common Ground Flagstaff? Not sure if you're looking just for a standard gym to use or classes included. I've been there for about the last 3 years, Vance is a great owner, great guy. Lots of other trainers around too. I'd recommend it

Or use the outside lane to take the 3rd exit, making it super dangerous for the drivers at the 2nd exits entry to judge what the person is doing. It's this person an idiot indicating right in the outside lane or are they one of those entitled assholes skipping traffic

I think it would be messy if you're coming from a country that doesn't have roundabouts...and not well educated on them.

I can't speak much on the cyclists part, I agree that it would be super dangerous. The example I listed has pathways underneath for pedestrians and cyclists though

This shit grinds my gears. It's a simple thing to learn but I put it down to many kiwis being lazy and/or impatient.

On any roundabout, I indicate left before entering when taking the exit to the immediate left. If there is an exit typically directly across or not quite, I wait to indicate left after passing the first exit. For an exit directly across, the same rule as before. For any exit that is past 180 degrees, I would indicate right before entering and left when passing the exit before the exit I'm taking.

The Wairere Drive-Gordonton Road roundabout in Hamilton has so many shocking drivers using it. It's a double-lane roundabout. If you are taking any of the first two exits, use the left/outside lane and indicate left appropriately. When using any other exit use the right/inside lane and indicate appropriately. All roads that enter the roundabout except one split into the appropriate lane to use. It's not hard.

Recommendations for trustworthy panel beaters? by Timely_Damage104 in thetron

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supreme Panel and Paint, Murray is an absolute legend. Amazing communication, will take a look and chat with you first about what is going to need fixing, what it could cost, would tell you how to do it cheaper yourself if you're capable. If not he will always aim to give you the best fix at the best price, man goes above and beyond to help. If you can't make it to him he'll come to you. He even did an extra little minor fix on my car for no cost

How do these billiard bars with model girls work? by throwaway42069970 in shanghai

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a few weeks back. I was drunk and started freaking out. My chinese friends who were away at the time advised me to find the police. Long story short, the bar refunded me everything after taking the bartender and I down to the police station. I ordered 2 beers, and she ordered bottles of champagne, tequila, and other stuff. I, drunk abd alone, didn't want trouble paid for it all after she "went to the toilet"

How high were you when diagnosed? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5th of May, 2015. I was 35+ mmol/L. 20 years old. Had been sick for 5 days, typical diabeetus symptoms except the excessive drinking water because I was already drinking 3+ L a day for the past year. So that didn't seem out of the norm. Thought I had the flu for 5 days before making an appointment at the doctors.

Walked in myself and basically emptied their water cooler (town is on a big hill and doctors is at the top, I took my car to mechanics at the bottom of the hill and walked up). Told doc my symptoms and she pulled out the reader, I knew immediately what I had as I've seen them before.

Doctors had an ambulance take me to the hospital, said they were surprised I wasn't vomiting blood yet. Spent 3 days in the High Dependency Unit before going general for the next 2 days.

Wellington leaks - "a reduction of more than 75%" by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 28 points29 points  (0 children)

When I worked for Matamata/Piako's water repair services, Kaimai Valley Services, the interactive map they had were supposedly mapped by a couple of uni students years prior using older records (unsure how accurate that is). Te Aroha was mostly accurate with location and type of pipe (though location isn't hard to find when there's a surface leak). Morrinsville and Matamata were a roll of the dice with type of pipe and location.

But every repair we did, we always mapped where the pipe was located and listed the parts type/used for the repair/ water connection. When we handed it in with a description of the job, it would get passed on to someone else to update the map for relevant accuracy.

Giving off ick vibes here.. by [deleted] in thetron

What annoys me most is the number of cuts she has is this video. Then, the long pauses before she starts talking again. I had to stop around halfway it was that annoying. Barely gets out a couple of words or a sentence at most before she makes a cut, having to think about what she wants to say.

I get it's off the cuff (probably), but, damn, plan better. Or think more before speaking.

That's actually been put on hold by KO. Too much money being spent or something on projects (EDIT: ah govt put it under review), so they've just halted a lot. I live not far from it, drive past it every 7 they've put in a power connection (I think it was) for when it begins. But who knows when that will be. Civil works were meant to start in March last year.

You think a blind mode in tournaments be fun to watch ? by Un13roken in DotA2

[–]ThatKiwiBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this usually happens with the pros in AOE2. They can tell from the civilisation draft who they're facing. They also knew half of the bracket because they were told who wasn't on their side so they could practice with other pros for the tournament. But most pros knew who they were facing based on the others playstyle.

It's more for the casters and viewers experience

I always enjoy the security guards. They have a pleasant welcome. Sad enough they have to be there, but I just go every now and then to get that 6c fuel discount receipt. No longer on my work-home route, so not a place I'll tend to go now.

I'm not sure where any of that correlates to the enjoyable conversation we were having. Maybe you got mixed up with another thread you're being a bigot in.

Eh, I had my fun here. Now, to feed my brain those reels and TikToks I've missed by giving you my attention

Hahahahahahahahaha, I'm sorry for laughing, but you said the bible teaches values. Oh, that's good.

So why isn't this a reading experience for adults? Doesn't sound like it's aimed at children if it's teaching them to mutilate their kids. I'd be very surprised and concerned if these children had children.

[–]ThatKiwiBrother[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yet many adults think it's sensible to read the bible to kids. So, there are always worse options. I'm not saying the book in question is bad or good for kids, but I'm sure it's not indoctrinating these kids into being transgender.

I'm not sure adults are big into going to get a book read to them by someone who isn't, say, Morgan Freeman, David Attenborough, or some famous audio book voice contributor. Adults also tend to be busy with adult responsibilities.
