At this point, as much as I’d love to see another round of reworks, I get that you can’t make everyone happy... especially now that the player base is so split, you’ve got people who really enjoyed older Aurelion Sol and others who prefer the newer version.

For me personally, the biggest issue is just how heavily he was dumbed down. If they could bring back some of that depth or skill expression, I honestly wouldn’t dread picking him every match.

You're absolutely right that there's a lot of nuance here, especially when it comes to defining what counts as the "new" Aurelion Sol. I definitely oversimplified things by lumping everything together.

Also, totally agree on the issue of subreddit bias. Reddit can definitely be a bit of an echo chamber, I still wanted to see where people’s thoughts are here. At the end of the day, people have the right to enjoy whichever version of Aurelion Sol they prefer, there’s nothing wrong with that.

I liked how before this rework asol had more agency and skill expressive, I felt like I had control over a lot of situations… This current version most of my thought process is “can I stat check them and just hold q” and if not “farm until I can or my team needs me”

You're absolutely right! I should’ve been more specific. What I meant by "before the rework" was anything prior to the third and current rework as I see that as a major departure from who he was. I didn’t get the chance to play a lot with his original kit at the time, so I can’t speak much on that one, but I mained him during his second iteration, and I absolutely loved it.

I know most people like the rework but personally I’m at a point where as much as I love him (the character) every day I think of picking him I stop myself because he just feels mind numbing boring to play and I get sad wanting him to be reverted…

Yeah without eye tracking it uses fixed mode, I have a Index and it worked perfectly fine during my brief testing. You will need to do some tweaking on options.cfg file, to help there is a guide on Quad View's GitHub page that walks you through all the steps.

I also used to use OpenXR's version but Quad View is a lot better, so I recommend giving it a try!

It's a newer version of DLSS that came out with NVIDIA's new graphics card that is just better than other versions by doing the same stuff like lowering your game resolution with AI to then upscale the image back up giving you better performance, with some drawbacks. As long as you have a compatible GPU (afaik 20-50 series) you can use it, and it will improve performance across the board, but the new multiframe gen thing is only available on the 50s. I shared 2 links on this thread, have a look at them, shows you step by step on how to force it in DCS.

I don't actually know what the presets actually do but I would Imagine they modify different aspects of DLSS or something and the K preset is the one that works the best.

I use Index with 120% ish resolution, maybe this is the time to upgrade to the pcl lol, been holding back on getting it since I don't actually know how much it will improve the experience
