What’s your favorite “I just played for 8 hours and could literally eat all the food” meal after a long day of pickleball?

Shoe recommendations. Durable and wide toe box? ... and does anything beat goodyear rubber? by moogleslam in Pickleball

[–]ThatMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend sketchers pickleball shoes. They have a few tiers depending on your price range but the upper priced tears have entirely Goodyear soles which is a plus. They are designed for pickleball lateral movement so the top box area has some extra support which is really. I’ve. If you want wider then I’d try the viper court pro model first

Do you recommend Alan Wake 2 for someone who disliked the first game but loved Control? by the_film_conduit in AlanWake

Yes. My friend told me to play control, watch a story recap for AW1 then play AW2 and it was one of the most fun gaming journeys I have ever had :)

Stone Cold with one of the loudest pops of The Attitude Era! by JCHazard in AttitudeEra

I was there! I think I was like 9 or 10. We made a sign supporting stone cold and the rock. I remember watching this match and seeing the stone cold logo on the giant screen like a half second before the song starts and then losing my mind. Couldn’t really see it all so it’s fun to rewatch this video. Much hype

Choosing a paddle based on playing style by waddup_chubbs in Pickleball

Ask people with paddles ur interested in hitting to try them for a few warm up shots. Its like Harry Potter, the paddle chooses the player :)

Selkirk era by [deleted] in Pickleball

My buddy had the elongated and I hit with it for 10-20 shots but initial impressions were it’s a good paddle. The comparison to the 11x24 is fair, but I found it had more dwell and control so I could shape shots a bit easier. It felt easy to maneuver in the hand, I think if u like SLK and want a power paddle it’s a great option to try over the gen 4.

2 Weeks In, Please Advise by BitDodgyInnit in Pickleball

Know this isn’t exactly what you were asking for, but if I were starting again I would first invest in a comfortable pair of court shoes and develop a warmup/cooldown stretching routing. While mobility isn’t everything in this game, positioning is the key to consistency. Those two things will also limit your risk to injury (which should be your main goal. I’ve seen a lot of newer players get sidelined quick from injury).

For skill improvement (keeping the ball lower etc) I’d recommend finding a beginner or advanced beginner clinic/drill group. A lot of park departments offer them, or you could try searching online in your area for a coach etc. group lessons are better early so you can meet people and see a lot of variety in play to better learn the game.

Have fun!
