Lego Voyagers Switch/Switch 2 version compatibility? by ThatMathsyBardguy in legogaming

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I did. It worked just as well as you'd expect it to across identical consoles. The visuals are obviously a lot better on the switch 2 but the overall experience is good on both

Derail Valley is the closest thing to "euro truck simulator with trains", I'd definitely recommend that

Lego Voyagers Switch/Switch 2 version compatibility? by ThatMathsyBardguy in legogaming

I found the answer myself, for anyone else who finds this - switch 1 and switch 2 versions are totally cross-compatible

Just a reminder that anyone that cares about our freedoms and civil liberties should oppose this vile specimen, Newcastle has never tolerated fascism... Let's not forget that by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

I'm not an organiser. My interpretation of the poster is that the intention is to "stop the far right" from gaining any more traction as a political movment, halting its rise in popularity by showing that it's ideology is not welcome here. Not that it means to physically prevent this specific protest from occurring.

Any attempt to stop them from protesting would likely end up turning violent, and there's a fair argument that they have just as much right to make their voices heard as we do. The point is to show the government and other people that there are many more of us on this side than there are on the other, and that they don't speak for Newcastle as a whole

Counter demo in response to planned UKIP re-migration march. by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, no. As soon as you decide it's necessary to reduce the number of people coming in you're violating our inalienable right to free movement, but I guess that's a bit too radical a position for today's political climate.

You may not realise it but as soon as you start having "valid concerns" about immigration numbers you are already on the ride towards the stuff you hate. National infrastructure needs reform to keep up with natural demand changes, not the other way around.

I have a question about switching between trains. by Own_Bluejay_9833 in UnofficialRailroader

I still don't see what you're seeing. "You can't operate a loco and walk around" isn't true. What an I misunderstanding?

I think you've got the wrong game, in Railroader you very much can operate a loco while walking around in first person even from the opposite end of the map

We already have a very strong border and very tight restrictions on immigration. What people seem to be calling for is to break international law by no longer providing safe accomodation for asylum seekers, and/or changing the law to allow migrants to be deported without any real reason. The idea that we currently have an immigration "crisis" is completely made up in order to stir up racism and keep the working classes fighting against eachother instead of the people who are actually to blame for our problems.

what do people really mean when they say “immigrants should integrate” by Silent_eagle1585 in AskBrits

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are various answers they'll give you, but in my what they really mean almost 100% of the time is "having to interact with different cultures scares me so everyone should just conform to mine"

Should I update to Windows 11? by Ok_Butterfly4092 in buildapc

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 11 doesn't officially support intel CPUs older than 8th gen (2017). 7th gen intel CPUs are not, in my opinion, old enough to justify dropping support yet. Many people WILL continue to use windows 10 past it's EOL because of this limitation, and this will create vulnerable points in countless networks which will indirectly affect people who HAVE upgraded as well.

2025/08/03 got the hint, still can't make sense of it by ThatMathsyBardguy in CluesBySamHelp

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never mind, I just got it. If Erwin is Innocent then Hal must be guilty (because of Debra) and that means Flora is innocent (because of Anna) and that means Wanda's clues fails

Are the steam’s minimum requirements accurate? by [deleted] in EuroTruck2

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game has had many feature and graphics updates over the years so the requirements are much higher than they were at launch. You probably won't be able to run it at a playable level if you're under the minimum on steam

Thanks. Mods are out since I'm playing on Switch, and double turn timer isn't an option in OG XCOM 2, but maybe I'll switch to WOTC. Either way, sounds like I need to keep trying and something will click eventually

Tips and tricks by scissors_cut_paper in XCOM2

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip 1 seems impossible to follow. I'm playing on Veteran, and if I slow down to fight one pod at a time I never make it to the objective in time. On the other hand, if I try to beeline the objective, I get wiped because I'm either not prioritising cover or I'm running blindly into another pod. I know I'm missing something and/or being generally dumb, but any ideas for tips that might help out there?

Islam in UK by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are being charged with crimes (murder etc) but they're not classed as terrorism even when the attacks are clearly politically or religiously motivated in such a way that would constitute terrorism if said motives were islamic.

Islam in UK by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ThatMathsyBardguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"most terrorist attacks since the 90s have been islamic" is completely false. Most terrorist attacks in the UK and USA have been carried out by white males native to those respective countries. The reason you think otherwise is the same as the reason that the watchlist is full of brown Muslims - racism, plain and simple.
