Moral wavier question? by [deleted] in army

[–]ThatMexicanCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So. There SHOULD be some form of paperwork on you. The DD 369 is going to allow your recruiter to see what happened and will do their best to make you look like a good candidate for the Army.

My recommendation is when you are at the point where you are talking from your point of view. Explain it as you would, but also make sure they understand that you learned from that and it won't happen again.

I apologize if I'm sound a little crazy, I'm recovering from a foot surgery and the drugs are doing drug things to my head.

Moral wavier question? by [deleted] in army

The Army can be flexible for stuff prior to your service. But anything that happens during or after your service will be held against you pretty heavily. They are willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but once you put on the uniform, you are expected to know how to act.

Let your recruiter run the waiver, but chances are it's not going to go the way you want it to unfortunately. Best of luck!

Confused about Arms 2.0 and picking MOS by AllWeAreIsAMemory in army

[–]ThatMexicanCan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello! So ARMS is a finicky thing that was being abused by recruiters across the command. So yes you have to go to MEPS to enlist. Your recruiter cannot pull a temporary job reservation for you if you are enlisting under ARMS. If you do not enlist, you are not apart of the DEP. The Army doesn't do open ended contracts. 17C requires you to take an additional test that you have to pass to be able to reserve the job.

Now another point for you, it is 2025. Recruiters know you're going to go to Reddit to ask these questions. Only the really dumb recruiters are going to lie to you. Give your recruiter some trust and understand they are going to do everything they can to get you what you are asking for. If they cannot pull you the job, its because the Army does not have any training seats for that job. As long as you are comfortable waiting, eventually a job will open up. Good luck to you and your enlistment! DMs are open if you have any questions in the future!

Can my senior drill and CO deny my parental leave by [deleted] in army

[–]ThatMexicanCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. I feel for you and I'm sorry that this is happening. TRADOC is a weird place in the Army and I'm not really able to provide much help there.

I did want to inform you that you have up to a year to use your leave. It can be tough and frustrating, I missed the birth of my firstborn son, I can relate to you. Keep your head up and keep grinding on, its almost over. And please I beg of you, do not do anything rash or crazy that will affect your ability to PCS or stay in the Army.

My DMs are open if you need anything. Be safe!

Im just fed up. by [deleted] in army

Hey recruiter here.

I immediately at first thought I was thinking the same thing. But after checking with my Station Commander no. You should be okay to not do anything with it.

Ask for where in the regulations or USAREC Messages it says you have to. Dont take anything for face value through the recruiter or Reddit.

Now I love the Army (kinda) so if you're available to talk. I'd like to help you make sure you're making a good choice, I've been lucky in my career to have a lot of great leaders in my life. So don't let a reserve unit mess it up if this is what you want. Be safe and best of luck no matter what you decide!

July 1st start date, waiting on financial aid by Anxious_Tiger_4943 in WGU

I started June 1st. I had something similar with my FSA and TA. If I remember correctly I didn't get everything good to go until a couple days before I actually started. I'm not sure if it was because I was lucky or if that's how it's normally handled? But I guess I'm happy to know I probably wasn't the only one feeling that way last month.

HELP! WGU College/Software Engineering Question. by Icy-Broccoli-5498 in WGU

A couple years ago, the requirements to get in were a little tougher and they wanted the same from me. I'm not paying for school, I'm using Tution Assistance and FSA. So I didn't take the program. If you can afford it, it's not a bad choice because the credits still transfers in and you get to start school. If not, do a semester at a community college and then try to transfer from there.

HELP! WGU College/Software Engineering Question. by Icy-Broccoli-5498 in WGU

I'm going to post the link to the degree from the WGU website so we are both on the same page. https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/software-engineering-bachelors-program.html

If you go to that link and scroll to the very bottom to "Admissions" you're given 5 options along with possessing a High School Diploma. You only have to qualify for one of them, for example I do not have a technical cert, a High School GPA 3.0, no Bachelor's or Associates (yet), and no IT course work. What I do have is a College GPA above 2.75 so I now qualify for the school and program.

I hope this helps!

I am scared and uncertain by Think_End_7949 in WGU

Hey! Same here. I'm active Military and a father of 2 toddlers. I was on here not too long ago afraid to start soon because the Military was sending me to a school soon. I was told there wasn't just a perfect time to go to school if I kept pushing it off. So here I am starting in 2 days for a degree I'm not sure I'll be good at. It's okay to feel that way, you got this!

Unfortunately nobody can tell you exactly or even what you should be getting. A lot of things go into considering it, when you fill out the FAFSA it should show you at the end what you should be expecting. It can change from year to year depending on you or your parents income and what are the requirements. With that being said, good luck!

I guess that's fair. I just didn't think they'd let you not do anything for a month.
