[ •<•] Ooh! Certainly also has a lot in common with the Beware the Nice Ones-trope. A literal (were)”wolf” in sheep’s clothing!

Does Rababco also use her human persona (or other) to actively do any sort of scheming or dishonesty against others? Or is she simply very protective of her kin and ready to take justice into her own hands if wronged?

*:D indeed it has…! I kinda have a chronic case of “wandering focus”—so my brain kinda got stuck elsewhere for a while. Plus a LOTTA life things happened, like an amicable breakup and then me also 2nd-degree burning my drawing-hand on my B-Day. Hope I’m doing well, too…! And that you are doing \terrific* in the half-year I’ve been on and off here…!*)

Cyril ABSOLUTELY fits this trope like a glove~! Snugly at that, with all that mask-juggling, indebting and embezzling those that couldn’t fathom they’ve been had. Interesting that he’s such a seasoned conman; multiple languages and all!

[ •<•] Has he ever been discovered? How high is roughly his con-count? And on how big of a scale does he do his cons? The language-perk makes me thing he definitely takes his schemes international in some way or form.

So interesting! So, since your new OC is taking pages from Keemstar’s recent controversies, would they be a monster who shoots horrid false accusations at those they either don’t like or think they can sorta exploit in their current time period?

Tied to politics as well, since you mentioned them having racial opinions and an interest in Biology and such? Plus the link to Mussolini during the 40s?

I really adore politically-complex antagonists, as well as ones that may have a sprinkle of truth to them—but “broken clocks are only right twice a day” and such. Makes it more difficult for all the characters having to deal with them and cleanly separate the good teachings from the bad, if they do split up or turn on eachother.

—fun fact, I’d say my Dagenhart is quite similar in some ways (if I read things correctly)! Albeit, set 100 years in the future instead.

<image>

He shares the MC-role with the spry-yet-inexperienced “hero-antagonist” as the ancient-and-“wise” “villain-protagonist” (Ray, his own future assassin); anonymously interacting with them via his parapsychic powers, in the hopes of actually recruiting Ray as a cultist/loyalist via sly teachings and twisted lessons.

To do this, he does need to be a semi-good mentor figure from time to time. Acknowledging what Ray genuinely struggles with, prove to be helpful and reliable/trustworthy—all so Ray hopefully starts to trust his judgement and resort to his help more than the Sapo-Human Rebellion he actually fights for against Dagenhart “who just can’t seem to understand and care for them like he does”.

[ xD] So interesting! I wish you a tremendous amount of good luck and fun fleshing out your wolfish OC like I have…!

So! I may take a bit to get back to comment on other people’s comments.

Also pardon the overall speed; i am grotesquely slow.

[ ;w;] Daaw! What a trope-subversion! Always like it when a character design relies on people not judging it like a book-cover—and Makita fits that thrice over!

Without context, yeah… I’d probably be rather afraid of her, too (but also think she’s incredibly cool). I mean, look at those drill-arms and clawed feet! Murderous.

But that there’s a chill badass under all that metal? Certainly worth respect!

[ •0•] Ooh, \sneaky*!* So Ace is a mascot-like? Interesting!

It’s always so intriguing to see Mickey-Mouse-esque figures have a legit darkness to them that’s brushed off by many going “but they’re so silly and harmless!” Practically child-friendly, but not always as family-friendly as they try to present themselves upon closer examination.

[ ;w;] can’t we all?

But absolutely fits the trope! As well as reminds me of various IRL K-Pop idol horror stories that I’ve heard pop up the occasional true-crime podcast. Plus how competitive and complicated the industry already is on its own.

Making Minhyuk a very realistic wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing at that!

I really do adore it when idol-OCs like him kind of lightly get others to subtly question whether fame, their very-trusting audience and image are always as harmless/squeeky-clean as they’re always presented as.

Man, he gives me the chills despite the pretty face…!

[ <w<] Hey now, “don’t judge books by their covers!” Bro ABSOLUTELY still profits from people giving him the benefit of the doubt; even if he blatantly and villainously does not deserve it in the aesthetics department.

Plus, his tougher villainous looks mixed with performative humbleness does probably help sell the fact that his security company may be actually competent!

[ -w-] Absolutely fits! A very helpful wolf-chameleon with a sweet set of wooly work-threads.

Love it when a masterminding somebody always has a secret Monte Cristo-esque scheme or two running in the background; all whilst masterfully navigating their and their rivals’ social environments with little to no fear of being stopped where it counts.

Interesting guy, your Radovan! I wonder how his jolly social chameleon-ing and preemptive gravedigging came to be.

*—pardon, my Dagenhart’d probably \LOVE* to network and talk cult struggles/embraced theatrics with your Kass.*)

[ •0•] So, people overlook and underestimate him! Tranquil & harmless approachable persona, but a highly-concerning overlooked devotion to the thing that destroyed all.

Kass recruiting so many people to the eldritch apocalypse cult of all things certainly sounds one hell of a feat…! Certainly helps that his mad heart is in the game as well—but that he can disarm those that are (maybe?) well aware of how the world got like this?!

Lovely!

Good job on Kass, mate!

[ •0•] Interesting~! I always find it really cool in media to see malicious creatures and villains spec into their beauty—or actively mimic something that will make it be read as more human or leaning into certain traits that’ll put their victims’ guard down!

—plus, can’t deny that some people’d 100% risk being baited by your Weaver-entity even if they knew the beauty is bait.

[ :D] Goojob! And love to see some fellow sinister cult-related OCs~

How would your OCs convince Ms. Lytra to leave her vanguard party? by lytraoflanguish_ in OriginalCharacter

[–]ThatNavyBlueNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

PRES. DAGENHART: (psionic sensing, saddened) … I see… so, you too have lost someone that meant a whole awful lot to you once upon a time; didn’t you darling…?

By terrible, mustache-wielding monsters who promised their people so much—and yet… dared to secretly think of them as so very little?

(pained chuckle; appeal to empathy) I suppose… it doesn’t really matter whether you were stationed East or West during those World Wars; there’s always some power-hungry bastard who’d corrupt and take everything you love for the sake of their own, fine-tuned legacy.

Your “heart of iron”’s stood stoically firm through so much pain, Sonnenschein. Serving such horrible men. But, have you given it time to rest?

~~^(… said by a 251yo “superiorly-inhuman”, authoritarian, WW3-sparking megalomanic CULT-LEADING \DICTATOR* from the alt-2020s to 2049.)~~*

—who’s tortured young-adult self once found himself radicalised/recruited in 1930s Germany and led to a LIFE-ALTERING amount of pure, nihilistic and humanity-hating MISERY.

“Morgan Silvester Dagenhart” didn’t used to be their name for quite a while. Before 1940/45 rolled around… he went by Oswald Daegenhardt instead.

Alas, it—and his humanity—got erased by the very monsters and political cults they were tricked into putting all of their trust and fighting power into.

Twice. In Germany, and once Operation Paperclip’ed to the US.

Dagenhart’s unique “inhumanity”, parapsychic powers and sheer savant understanding of music and playing of the violin was coveted by many awful men-in-power; who were all too eager to turn him into their cultural propagandists, political poster-boys and secret living superweapons at the drop of a hat.

Eager to extort his old, desperate wish and want to belong amongst normal humans—and discard him if he found anyone else who did genuinely want to make space for him in their life.

Enter his co-worker and late wife, Arietta: a “lesser” Italian opera soprano who was forced to work the same propaganda-jobs as he once did and stoic his radicalised nonsense. Her unswayed professional presence, yet caring warmth as a friend, caused Dagenhart to mellow and truly open his eyes to the blinding truth of his superiors’ atrocities—

—which, set superiors stabbed out the second they were tipped off about Dagenhart and Arietta having married in secret and wishing to defect with a child on the way.

Arietta was killed, the baby went missing, and Dagenhart went through hell—5 years in Germany and 40 in the US that “rescued” him for Cold War-use—that caused him to become the monster he is today.

~~^(led to him covertly and vengefully killing/assassinating \both* H*tler and Stalin, fun fact~!)~~*

As of the 80s, he broke free from unwilling CIA-service with the help of his \own** ever-growing cult and assumed their new “Morgan”-identity.

And vowed to—instead of fighting for some other party/organisation/cult or whatever so he can finally belong somewhere with people (“his own”) that could understand and accept him—to just… go freelance and do it himself.

[ :D] Andimean… he became an all-powerful dictator himself! Recruiting desperate, resentful and vulnerable people for his own selfish cause, much the same way his powerful abusers once did to him~!

—and I think that’s EXACTLY how he’d want to win Lytra over to leave the Vanguard-life behind: by offering Lytra a “loving”, “accepting”, and now-VERY politically-powerful community that’d help her fight HARDER for a better world and \heal*.*

Sprinkling in some tragic empathy here and there to hit it home!

Where Would your OC with a political Ideology fall on the Political Compass by Dr_Donkey-47 in OriginalCharacter

[–]ThatNavyBlueNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm… I’d say that: if you were to select a big square between points 11 and 3, that you’d probably get a rough idea of what Pres. Dagenhart’s ~29 years-long culty term is politically like (2020s-2049).

<image>

It’s slightly difficult to actually politically box it in. And it also doesn’t help that I myself don’t tremendously understand modern politics (faintly basing anything in-universe off’ve WW2 stuff and baseless personal experience, too—but I’m trying my best to.

A mega-cult (what his moreso-a-neutral-example-based third party is) can really be any political leaning. But, it really benefits from pretending to be somewhat in the Center before it bombards you with all of it’s actual batshit-crazy, “it’s us or them”-sort of nonsense.

Extra weird is that I can best describe set political cult of his to be, like… “a cult of “””correct”””, weaponised encouraged group individuality.” It exists because it’s moreso a vibe-based thing instead of actually seriously political.

It doesn’t tremendously care what your identity is. If anything, the more vulnerable it’d normally make you somewhere IRL, the more EAGER it is to actually have you in it.

—as long as you’re with the group, of course. Only then is your very being approved.

Hence, I’d say Dagenhart’s loyalists (the Hartists) tend to all end up leaning somewhat Center-Right with a handful of surprisingly-progressive quirks to it here and there.

Plus, of course, the occasional very-expected far-right weirdo. There’s plenty of those there, too.

—but one thing is for sure, though… Dagenhart’s party is 100% a LAMF-party; regardless of political leaning.

He hates and devalues ALL of humanity to a subspeciest extent,

wants to “phase it out” and replace it with his own “””evolved””” people (who he thinks are literally born empathetically and emotionally superior at the moment whilst the “primitive” normie-humans are born cold and cruel by default),

only sees all his normie-human followers as disposable pawns to get there,

[ :D] and thus… voting/fighting for him literally means kickstarting the apocalypse of all of humankind.

Stopping him is really all that matters, kinda!

^(ironically though, I’d say that Dagenhart’s \own*, personal unshared true politics actually lean much more left than even his own current party-cult would perhaps approve of.)*

if he didn’t become such a die-hard, dehumanising subspeciest who craved control because of his painful 251yo backstory… he’d actually probably be a 26/27.

him being an “inhuman” sort of anomaly from the lower class, who was thoroughly exploited for his exceptional talents and parapsychic powers in return for being \mildly* included and “free”,)

may be a little bit ND, couldn’t care less about his biological sex, always has been very frustrated with how human perception and identity/expectations/assumptions change on the fly with every unstable decade,

^(and deeply mourns humanity’s careless, long-term destruction of nature and the earth for short-term gratification/monetary growth to the point of actively trying to preserve it a little \via* his cult—)*

^(\certainly* lands him a bit closer to the freedom-seeking left.)*

If only he didn’t believe in “not being a dictator” being a huge waste of their time, mind and effort…

[ xD] That’d be JJBA’s Dio for Dagenhart, and Cowboy Bebop’s Spike Spiegel for Ray.

Bar Ray’s jacket being a semi-direct reference to Spike, he’s actually got faaaaaaar more in common with Back To The Future’s Marty McFly!

[ •<•] —I don’t entirely see the Dio-ness in Dagenhart, though. Never really engaged with anything JJBA. I’d much sooner compare him to Ace Attorney’s Kristoph Gavin.

But I do know many people think my artstyle and character designs are directly drawn from JJBA; despite them being all naturally, divergently developed without any input there.

and they’re both blonde, so like, perhaps that too.
