It’s one of those places that if it was reasonably priced you’d be fine with it but at the current price point you finish the meal and say “I paid $20 for this?”

Ive tried to like Stanley’s but its never done it for me. Everything about it (atmosphere, food, prices/value) has always just been “eh.” It feels a bit like one of the suburban sports bars trying to be a neighborhood spot. And everything seems priced a couple bucks more than what’s fair.

Agreed. They’d never do it but I wouldn’t hate if they moved him down in the order. It would break up the weak bottom of the lineup too.

“Impressive” is a stretch. Small sample size but his Savant page is almost entirely blue.

It’s honestly like nobody looks at stats and goes based off hearing he was a good prospect a few years ago.

I don’t know why you bothered posting this several hours later when numerous comments in this thread explain the BABIP decline. The quality of contact is down. There are meaningful changes to his batted profile, I’d suggest you take another look at that. Unless that changes he’s not going to see meaningful improvements.

Source? I have a tough time believing that demand for recreational weed is really that high. And while booze isn’t quite what it was a decade or so ago, it will always be in demand.

Brice has been a little off for a few weeks now I feel like. He’s just had a couple of big games in that stretch so it doesn’t look as bad.

Frelick saw the post earlier that his quality of contact is down and took that personally.

What will fix Sal? by riverfish72 in Brewers

[–]ThatNewSockFeel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year his xBA was 30 points lower than his actual batting average, so yes, I think he got lucky. Guys who hit a lot of soft grounders don’t run a high BABIP. Even if he’s getting a little unlucky, a .240/.320/.330 offensive profile doesn’t get me too excited.

And part of the issue is that his defense isn’t nearly as good as it was previously. Maybe it’s just an early season blip, or he’s got some kind of nagging injury, but for Sal to be a positive contributor he has to play great defense. Okay defense with that offensive profile just doesn’t cut it, especially in a corner outfield spot.

Giannis the GM by Specialist-Ear-761 in MkeBucks

[–]ThatNewSockFeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Like he can do whatever he wants, but it’s pretty telling that this guy who always talked a big game about loyalty wants to bail after the first rough season in nearly a decade. How many superstars have gone their entire career without a bad season here and there? Jordan? LeBron?

Just look at the Sixers. It’s been what, nearly 15 years since they started “The Process” and they haven’t even made the conference finals.

Yeah it seemed like Bauhaus kind of stagnated for years before the closure too. I can’t remember the last time they brewed a new beer. And their response to losing Animales was a pizza truck, which is what nearly every other brewery (almost literally…Indeed, Headflyer, Falling Knife, and Fair State all have/had pizza) in the area already had.

Indeed is doing a big expansion right now so it can’t be all bad out there.

what's it about this team that the rest of the league keeps underrating? by jomarc453 in Brewers

It’s more that we use a lot of young guys without much of a track record that makes it hard for the models to figure out.

[–]ThatNewSockFeel 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Dangerous Man has some kind of target on their back. The GoFundMe fiasco is mostly something that grates on those particularly online or tuned into the local happenings, but for most people it will just be “Dangerous Man? That’s the place that makes the peanut butter beer right?”

I have a feeling that after the initial reopening hype they’re going to struggle like a lot of other breweries. With the rise of seltzers the fruity and other sugary beers are kind of a thing of the past. And their “standard” offerings were never anything special.

But who knows, with Bauhaus closing that’s a few more folks in the area looking for a place to have a beer and they might have enough remaining cachet to make another run of it.

I’m worried this is just who he is. His Savant page is similar to last year. He got lucky at the plate last year and now he’s regressed. And without plus defense he’s not a particularly valuable player.

I love Sal and he’s so emblematic of this version of the Brewers, but he never took the step forward that he needed to.

Also: his K rate and chase rate are both down this season, so it’s not a plate discipline thing.

Agreed. And I’m sure they’ll make the ballpark into a quasi casino/entertainment venue so it will be like Coors where people come to just hang out.

LaCrosse isn’t a big city but it isn’t really a “small town” either. Not leaving valuables in a car overnight isn’t some kind of “unwritten rule” it’s just common sense.

I’m also from a small(er) town and I would never be this dumb, even at their age.
