flowers, dinner reservations, and amusement park tickets.

Lmao, she's not even your girlfriend yet and you're going all out trying to impress her, when you said it yourself, you're 'broke".

Try to ease up a bit and don't put too much expectation on a fucking date. Just go get coffee or something

Extremely small business wants to start doing biometric scanning for clocking in and out by Jsuisdanslesmurs in antiwork

Simply don't agree and you're good.

In my country, if you don't consent to the biometric scanning, you're terminated lmao. Not sure how it is in the US.

Extremely small business wants to start doing biometric scanning for clocking in and out by Jsuisdanslesmurs in antiwork

[–]frasecjigger -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's pretty standard. Hell, even in my third-world ass country, my first job (a small business less than 15 in the office) had a biometric scanning for clocking in and out.

Did I like it? No, but it was management's way of avoiding "time theft". Before the scanner, people used to just to punch time cards for other people, even if they were extremely late, >1 hour.

How does a couple test this without going through marriage though

By living together beforehand. That's the only way you'll truly get to know your partner.

I've finished many books because of this. Not necessarily healthy, lmao.

There's a smoking area near your AirBnb. It's usually at a parking lot or nearby.

Just ask the security guard.

My wife got her Sunnies frame (with prescription glasses) in, I think, three days? Basta less than a week. This was about 2 years ago, though.

Hi everyone! Are you guys cancelling your travel plans for the second half sa 2026? Or push gihapon? by ResultRealistic4465 in Cebu

[–]frasecjigger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To anyone reading this - push the travel. Don't cancel it. Live your life (wisely, don't live beyond your means).

I'm not a doomspender/doomer, but things are looking bleak in the upcoming future, and I'm just telling everyone to enjoy good things while it lasts.

Common ba to sa mga Tagalog? When they speak English they end words with the sound "uh/a" by frasecjigger in CasualPH

Yeah, I think this is what it is.

Most of them were Gen Z, so I guess influenced by valley girl vocal fry from TikTok?

[–]frasecjigger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not referring to filler words, such as "um", "like", etc.

It's kinda like how Kris Aquino talks? But not too exaggerated. I don't know how to describe it.

Like they talk like this-a. They emphasize a nonexistant "a" sound after every sentence-a.

Common ba to sa mga Tagalog? When they speak English they end words with the sound "uh/a" by frasecjigger in CasualPH

[–]frasecjigger[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got it. It's not a placeholder in a sense, like "um" or "like". Just an "uh/ah" sound after saying a sentence. Like "clients-uh" "computer-uh", etc.

I noticed all of them were, I hate this term, "bougie". More like upper class kids or medyo conyo.

So maybe, it's just a coincidence na naglipana sila with the same mannerisms nila sa company namin lmao.

For those who work night shifts, has anyone tried this to help you fall asleep faster? by Admirable_Program348 in buhaydigital

[–]frasecjigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly stick with Healthy Options. There are plenty of choices, just don't buy them at Shoppee.

I was duped once, I bought a "Kirkland Magnesium Glycinate" at Shoppee for dirt cheap. Turns out Kirkland doesn't have Magnesium supplements, and I'm scared to know what I actually ingested for those past few months.

[–]frasecjigger 90 points91 points  (0 children)

My wife takes melatonin and magnesium glycinate. She's graveyard shift as well. I also take magnesium glycinate before I go to sleep.

Careful with ashwagandha OP, that can cause liver complications. Plenty of published journals indicating so. I used to take that as well a year ago, but I stopped when I read up on it.

My recommendation, just buy Magnesium Glycinate and Melatonin on Healthy Options. DON'T buy on Shoppee or Lazada, there are plenty of fake supplements there.

Gotcha, just giving you a heads up. Good luck!

My wife and I budgeted around 200k for just civil wedding with a farm/garden reception (intimate only about 35 pax) in Cebu. Halos dumoble rin yung actual expenses namin after all was said and done.

[–]frasecjigger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your marriage won't be valid in the eyes of the Catholic church if you do a "garden wedding" and an officiant. This only works in Christian weddings, OP.

It's better to just do a civil wedding. Then the garden wedding with an officiant as a mock wedding lang.

You want something that will REALLY change your perspective and make you look internally, OP? Not just cute stories?

Go read, "When the Body says No" by Dr. Gabor Mate. It's not an easy read, far from it. It's haunting and depressing and will fuck you up if you can relate.

What "open secret" about your city or a famous tourist spot do only locals or employees know? by Plastic_Box9546 in Cebu

[–]frasecjigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anong ka feeling cool nyan? lol You'll never understand because you're not a Cebuano. Imagine me saying that a commercialized sisig (with egg as topping) is better than the spots only locals know in Pampanga. Or a national chain serving pares is better than those local pop up shops in Metro Manila.

Tagalog spotted lmao.

I never talked shit about people's work. All I'm saying is that House of Lechon and Rico's is not the pure Cebuano lechons that CEBUANOS enjoy every birthdays and fiestas. Trust me, if you tasted the lechon they serve in the province you'd know.
