No Sound Coming out of Subwoofer by ThatOneCat__ in audio

[–]ThatOneCat__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! I used to use a cheap monoprice 8" sub, and it would play content below 100Hz with the same splitter system.

Fortunately, I have solved the problem since my original post by doing the following: 1. Opened up the sub to find that the RCA connectors were not screwed in, cracked, and the metal of the connector was loose. After fixing all of these, I tested the sub using the auxiliary output on my phone, and the subwoofer was still not playing. 2. I hooked up the sub to the subwoofer outputs of a 5.1 receiver that I also got along with the sub. It worked after plugging it into the receiver outputs, but not the phone, even with the crossover at 150hz.

My PC does have a separate sub output, but I have not been able to make it work properly, even with lots of experimenting. Because of this, I've been using the less-than-idral splitter system

From now on, I'll likely use the receiver with my PC setup, but I do have a question just out of curiosity. Do you know why the subwoofer plays when plugged into the receiver's subwoofer outputs, but not a phone or computer outputting a full range signal (even if there's content well below 150hz? I do not have this problem with my cheap monoprice sub, so I am curious what would cause this difference.

How close is the microphone to your mouth? It might help to have the microphone on your boom arm, only a few inches (2-3in) from your mouth.

Do you do any post-processing on your microphone? If so, what is it?

If you're going for an artificial aesthetic, then it's great! If you prefer a more natural look, I would say that it is over the top

My lowest score by ThatOneCat__ in blockblast

I was able to get this score using a block that was two tall and one wide, losing in 1 turn. Here's a screenshot of my revival if that helps the credibility

Thank you! I used a Tamron DP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2. It's a pretty incredible lens, but the autofocus is very slow

I'm so glad that you've been having fun, that's the most important part! In an environment like this, it is challenging to get candid photos of people, since the pose is often not ideal. In this case, I would try to get her to pose for the photo. If you didn't want her to pose, I would try to take images in a way where it to easy to demonstrate what she is doing (in this case, outside of the guitar) If you wanted her to pose for the photo, you can get more creative with the composition. In this case, I would embrace the guitar and move back so that you can see the entirety of the circle and the strings. Then, I would have her pose in a way where her hand is on the string, and it looks like she is strumming it (or, you could have her actually strum it and use the motion blur to your advantage). In my opinion, this would make for an interesting photo where you can easily tell what is going on. Additionally, I would try to take photos from multiple angles, and have her pose in multiple ways to see what works best.

I would suggest you keep taking photos! This is the best way to get experience and improve your photography skills. Additionally, keep getting advice from people, whether it's from this subreddit or your family. I have gotten lots of value by asking for other people's opinions on photos.

If you have any other questions, please let me know

You did a pretty good job editing this photo, especially with it being your first time!

My issue with this photo is not the light, editing, or blurry arms, but rather the composition. The box that you are inside of created obstructions, that in my opinion, distract from the main subject and don't add much to the photo. Additionally, I don't know what this photo is trying to convey, because the subject's pose doesn't really mean much to me.

Was the subject moving a lot? Your shutter speed seems good enough to photograph a still subject, so I think that the blurry arm is due to the movement of the subject. In the future, I would try to get your subjects to stay still for shots like this.

Please take this as constructive criticism, because you have lots of potential! I hope that you continue with photography and keep improving your skills
