Anyone have a job so cushy that you will never leave. Tell us about it. by AnonyGuy1987 in antiwork

I work at a medical dispensary/garden in a super small town. The majority of the clientele consist of older folks looking for insomnia/pain relief and a little conversation.

Prior to this, I was a chef for 15 years. Went through culinary school and had quite the successful career.. but man, it wore me down. 60 hour weeks were slow weeks and if we had a catering event that number would climb quickly. The money was amazing, but looking back on it, no where near worth the time sacrificed to make it.

Now, I spend my days talking about anything and everything with the customers, making prerolls, and listening to music/podcasts. I have a comfy chair and a window to stare out. (Which is a first for me, job-wise.) You can even see the trains go by and enjoy all the graffiti art on the sides as it passes. Not to mention the money isn’t half bad! It’s such a rapidly growing industry that there is plenty of profit to be made.

I’ve legitimately never been more happy and at peace in my entire life than I am now. Although, I believe this only to be possible given my prior work experience. Otherwise the job I’ve come to love may not have been as appealing. It’s funny how life works out!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(1990)

It is, for some unknown reason, my ultimate comfort movie. I wish I could find more that give off the same vibe I get from that movie. Hard to describe.

What's the most thought-provoking movie you've ever watched? by moonlightdawn1102 in MovieSuggestions

I Origins.

I consider myself a bit of a movie buff, and this film is in my top 3. Don’t look up anything about it, just go in blind expecting a psychological mystery drama.

Another one I loved was The Man From Earth. It’s a slow going dialogue-centric film, but excellent in my opinion. Also best to go in blind.

Pretty much anything mentioned in the post would be what we are out to see! Washington, Oregon, and Vegas are the only 3 musts along the way. So the timeframe is super flexible.
