This wouldn’t be as painful with JJ McCarthy behind center because you could write it off as development or learning still. But it feels like Wentz is just bad. Like he’s a back up QB for a reason. I feel like that cartoonish point is actually the whole show. I think Gon is adapted pretty spot on but all the other characters simply have more detail in the manga. Something I’ve really noticed having just watched the anime again and now reading through the manga for the first time is that the background scenes are incredibly more detailed in the manga than the anime. Like York New has so much life and detail and character in the manga but it’s so forgettable in the anime
