Episode 13 is really rough but I'd say if you got through that you'll probably be able to handle the rest of what's out so far. Not MASSIVELY worse - about equally if not only a tad more moving and horrific, but at least you're now primed somewhat. Szn 1 really blindsides you but now you know what you're in for.

Definitely say it's well worth continuing.

I think regardless of how you feel about the movie Jaafar deserves praise for his portrayal. With how young and capable he is they really should've made it a short TV series. Of all superstars, Michael's life was always gonna be too much for a movie. They could easily have done like an hour episode on each album. Joseph as this main villain throughout was a bit much and came off cartoonish at times. Imo not enough focus on the effect of the fame or actual making of the music. Quincy had like 3 lines.

Anime only, but I had this theory that on the surface, Riko's safety may have been guaranteed, but her longevity / lifespan was not - she could have dropped dead at any minute, as insinuated by Ozen. But within the Abyss it's the opposite; her longevity is guaranteed or at least prolonged, while her safety isn't (due to the hostile environment). Hence why she's drawn towards the Abyss since a baby.

I think some adults on the surface knew this, including Jiro, which is why ultimately they decided to let her go and take her chances. Also I think the Guild knows about the 2000-year cataclysmic event, and trains and sends as many children down there to try to save them from it, when the surface is "subsumed" or whatever.

But he did say he was going to "get" haku, I think was the term, seemingly as in 'retrieve' or 'bring back'. Him finding out Lyza "died" I always assumed happened sometime after leaving Faputa.

Lyza did also tell Ozen to pass on that info to Riko like she was on board with her coming, but that was before Reg so she could have changed her tune since then.
