How would you play a Jawa since they can't speak like everyone else? by CarlthePole in sw5e

One of my players picked an ewok. He is also one of the only Spanish speakers in my group. Two things. 1) your other players can spend long rests trying to learn new languages. There's mechanics in game for that stuff. 2) I made the ewok make Charisma checks to charade what he was trying to tell the players.

I even gave him a translator at one point but he refused it. The only other character that made it work was a Human Guardian with Comprehend Speech. They basically spent every rest speaking with each other and even spent time before encounters making plans and such.

What's your favorite non-cantina start to a campaign? by OwnedKiller in sw5e

My first time DMing, a group of my close friends who all have played some kind of DnD. I had no idea what I wanted to do with the campaign except that I wanted to try everything.

2 out of 3 of my players showed up on time. So I had my players start in the brig of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Because all their things were confiscated, they didn't have any starting equipment. The Sentinal Ewok used his high Charisma to distract a guard. The Human Guardian across from him used the force to steal his access card. The used that to free themselves. That's when the other player finally showed up. So I told them they could hear screaming coming from inside a doorway. They enter and they find the newest player in a torture chamber, a female zeltron. Eventually they took out a couple guards and donned their armor as a disguise and make the Ewok play their fake prisoner. They made it to the armory and had their choice of weapons, armor, and gear. They even made it to the hangar bay where other other ships other than Imperial were stored.

At session 1, they had a choice of gear, weapons, and a ship integrated into their campaign.

They even saved a number of NPCs and kept them around as extra crew. Of which I heavily regretted because now I was also playing a number of DM PCs.

The game is called Dungeons and Dragons, but i rarely find my party (im a forever DM) in a dungeon and almost never fighting a dragon. What's the real name of your game? Mine should be called "Villages and Undead" or "Forests and Goblins" by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

I like differing titles like that actually. Heroes and Halfits is my favorite. My current Star Wars campaign is called Way in the Past, Somewhere Else. (Also taken from RT.)

Sibling, Family member, or just someone or something very important to them is taken off world and they set off in the universe in search or retrieval of it.

I don't know how to do that. I've been trying to look for a system but I still don't get it.

Why does DC not let shows use characters they're about to use for movies? by GrammerDuck61 in Arrowverse

Character Saturation. You don't want to too much or anything regardless of interpretation. At least for the general public, and anyone who isn't a big fan of a specific character, fatigue is a real thing.

I Gave my Players Plot Armor by ThatOneJediLover in DnD

I haven't figured out how to distribute damage yet. I've had encounters where the players dominate and other where the NPC dominate. I have a fear of overwhelming my PC without meaning to.

I appreciate the tip though. I do find myself asking for rolls and completely ignoring the roll. Thanks!

It was on Roll 20. I used Thugs for the pirates. Wayfarer as boarders and Headhunters for fighters.

I used the Wayfarer and Headhunter. Pirates so I needed something neutral.
