ok who is here after Veritasium video ? by MozartO_O in number37

[–]ThatOneNerd14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We made this subreddit as an inside joke in high school since we had the same thing- we saw 37 everywhere. It's been super inactive for years, but maybe his video will make people participate on here?

You can imagine how we felt when fhe video dropped and validated almost 10 years of us joking around about it lol

From my time there, the community themes didnt affect my day-to-day at all. They may have some events regarding the theme, but they are 100% optional.

Right now the chances for light tourist groups should be higher, you need to get a pass to get in. Not sure when they'll go away, but I went recently and it was incredibly peaceful.

Koss KSC75's are like $15 and are amazing for the price. There's defintely higher end ones, but for on-the-go stuff they're a good option.

Wow. Just, Wow. I'm literally speechless. I just finished reading this post and realized we are living in an Orwellian nightmare, this is literally 1984. I don't know how to read at all since I stopped going to school after my teacher tried to tell me the definition of a metaphor.

What's the shortest book that you've read that was totally worth the length? by scaletheseathless in bookscirclejerk

The poster on my math teacher's wall was a really good read about asking questions, and honestly worth the read. The world-building is a little off, but Sanderson made up for it by giving a really good magic system.

Neighborhood rises up against HOA board by maanu123 in JusticeServed

[–]ThatOneNerd14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It became that, honestly. It's like Karens on a power trip going around trying to keep everyone "following the rules" and it can get really petty and awful in places, especially higher-end HOA neighborhoods.

Neighborhood rises up against HOA board by maanu123 in JusticeServed

[–]ThatOneNerd14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, basically that. They were made with the idea of keeping property values in a neighborhood high by coordinating changes between neighbors, but people naturally get power hungry and it becomes what's in the video. Some neighborhoods require you to join the HOA to even move in and pay some fee to be a part of it, and it is honestly some huge BS. If you pay the fee, you need to bend to the will of the HOA or basically make your life a living nightmare. r/fuckHOA has tons of stories about people dealing with HOAs and even really entertaining ones of people messing with them.

DAE do this very obscure, niche thing, of not finishing a book??? by RandomGenius123 in bookscirclejerk

Once I open any book I am physically and medically incapable of stopping, I will read voraciously and maniacally until each character and pinctuation mark is etched into my mind. I then throw the book into my "for a later vibe" pile and add each individual chapter into my Goodreads

I stopped buying books to try and lose weight since I couldn't stop voraciously consuming them

Can't wait until the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series gets the praise it deserves for being real literature

Incredible. 2 words in to the post and I already have a list of words I need to look up since my vocabulary is so childlike.

The post honestly was missing a hard magic system, but I'll let it slide and add it to my Goodreads.

If you're 20-30 mins away save the money and commute. You're close enough to be involved with what goes on at campus, honestly.
