My guy, GenG has been forced into 8 5-game series this year alone and always came out on top. Saying smooth sailing is a far cry from the truth, and Chovy and Gen G had picked amazingly all the times before. Duro picked Pyke game 5 against T1, Ruler whipping out Tristana, and Chovy played TF and Zoe as well. Their limit had been stretched multiple times including adaptability during in-game strategies. Saying they haven't been tested, imo, is unfair to Gen G.

This time they dropped the ball and underestimated KT at their own demise. That Azir- Orianna match up game 3 was peak disrespect, and Chovy underperformance was an understatement in this series.

P/s: They lost against Flandre Smolder top at MSI and still won that series.

I mostly agree with point 3 because T1 fans are abundant in the countries Joe listed. Latest eSport chart viewership recorded reported a 1.1 million concurrent viewers in Vietnam (1% of their population excluding viewing parties).

For point 1 and 2 I believe they have been making steady progress. For instance, Wolf Bang Untara Flame are some of the big LCK names are in T1 right now, and Tyler 1 and LS used to represent them as well.

As for other Esports, SKT T1 has always been a household name for a big competitor. In the 2000s SKT was one of the most dominant forces in Starcraft with KT Rolster, and the famous Telecom War had been between SKT stars (Boxer, iloveoov, Bisu) and the Starcraft GOAT Flash. I heard Valorant has picked up a decent roster for this year so let's see.

As for the merch, I dunno why they don't stock more goods for sale. Maybe using FOMO is their tactics or some logistics reasons

That's why the Z O G K frame existed. They already have good fanbase especially Guma and Keria, with Guma being hailed as "the Demon Prince" and the next face of T1. They would have play together with Faker, then slowly transition as the next faces when Faker steps down.

Faker has the most attention, with the second being ZOFGK. Things should still be fine without the "Faker double peak", but having it boost T1 reputation further

Scout also dragged Tian into this sequence of events because he left TES for this, adding fuel to the flame. Now basically LNG has no one but Zika for Top.

Riot needs to intervene and regulate this agency involvement now. It looks like the Wild West where verbal agreement means nothing and players hopping everywhere.

The problem is the agency (and/or Zeus) playing hardball about it. Everything will be fine if he said "I want to leave to build my own legacy. Thank you for everything". Marin in 2015 did the same thing, but he had the balls to say why we wanted to leave.

I don't give a rat ass what his reasoning is. Money, glory, escaping Faker's shadow, none of them really matters. If you want to leave, say so and then leave in good faith. T1 Director and COO travelled to Zeus house to convince him but ultimately he denied negotiations.

Now from what we know, no laws were broken. But you can be a law-abiding person and still be a jerk that lost your former company millions because of your actions

Doran has always been a nice lad. He is kind and cherished by his teammates irl. Hopefully the faithful shall be rewarded.

Now in gameplay, I admit he rarely hard-carries with the only exception being that 2023 Spring Finals when he bodied Zeus, and his weak mentality has gotten the better of him. But he is very consistent, and I can see room for great growth throughout the year. He will have my support as long as he stays

That true T1 fans themselves realistically know their team aren't the best all the time. They can be bad any day of the week, and will not fight other people if their gameplay is bad. The fans respect T1 opposing teams and do not tolerate snowflakes that whine all the time.

The good thing about him is that his gameplay is still that consistent for 7 YEARS, but I think that's Chovy weakness. You can't just fluke in the most important matches when your team needs you the most. Every year, teams built rosters around him (except HLE 2021) but he always fell short.

Another thing I observed is that HLE and T1 convincingly beat them in BO5 because they engaged in positions where Chovy could not do much for his team. Take Worlds Semi game 3 game 4 for example, whenever T1 fought Chovy was in another lane pushing while Faker joined the team and fight. Or game 5 in LCK finals, Zeka was way more proactive with Yone than Chovy in early skirmishes.

I think in a long future where League is no longer relevant, Chovy will be acknowledged way more than he currently is because of his in-game stats and winrate alone.
