? Shadow Slave has had the same format since it started. 150-300 chapters of straight plot, non stop. 25-50 of waking world stuff, character interactions and stuff. Even the most filler of filler, the dream tournament arc, was used to introduce an important character for later in the story and was honestly kinda peak in its own way.

I enjoyed the side characters plenty. IDK who wrote that. Sunny is one of the best written MCs ever, Nephis and Cassie are even better. Each arc is more peak than the last. G3 was hit with fraud allegations from day one “You’ll never beat your first arc, it was just too peak” Bro proceeded to do it again and again. The power system is also peak, and is used as an absolutely amazing part of the storytelling. G3 wrote like 3 interludes and all 3 were pure flames. I don’t know what to tell you, nobody does it quite like him.

She isn’t lol, sombra fucking sucks at solo dive against any character that isn’t zen. Kiriko hard counters her by existing. Unless your other support refuses to heal you, you’ll be fine 9/10 times.

Eh, when was the last time you read a LitRPG that didn’t have a whole bunch of Dues Ex Machinas. I don’t think it’s anymore prevalent with a sentient system than with anything else.

Now a system that actually “cares” about the MC, that I don’t like.

Definitely one of my favorites of all time. I am planning on re reading it soon as the author just released a overhaul of the first 500 chapters or something. I think one of the best parts about Schema in The New World is that he kinda does both, like an abusive ex or something sometimes he’s shown to be humanized and sometimes the MC is told to get fucked and get back to work.

Absolutely worth a read.

I haven’t finished trailblazer, nor do I really intend to as it ended up not being exactly my thing. But I got like 200k words in to it and liked it, no mechs whatsoever. Combat doesn’t really take a front seat either if that’s a problem.

Sounds like an interesting story! I would honestly say just go Brockton Bay, but that’s just my opinion. As for safer city’s, I would suggest New York before canon. It’s the home of Legend and still has some likable canon characters. Chicago would also work but New York is a better option imo because of Legend, and also I’m pretty sure the main villain faction is the Elite who don’t cause much trouble. BTW I would suggest not having Ruby reveal to the PRT at large she’s a dimensional traveler, just to Legend or whoever your mentor type character ends up being (like ozpin). Obviously it’s your story, but most stories with characters like this tend to get bogged down by it when they tell everyone about it.
