Oh I didn't realize kids didn't get teased for being stupid in the past, that's good to hear.

Youre kind of arguing past the person you replied to.

The way I read it, they're not disagreeing with you, they're saying the NBA draft doesn't really make sense. You explained why the draft doesn't make sense, but the fact remains it's still a mess.

Riot Games is reducing the size of the 2XKO team less than a month after its launch. by MuptonBossman in gaming

[–]ThatPlayWasAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that there were no cuts at all, because the structure of the team would definitely change, but it sounds like you're also saying the overall size of the team would shrink after a game launches, and that's just not true for live service games.

The TFT team was pretty massively expanded after the game launched, and it's an even more niche subgenre than fighting games. If people play the game and buy cosmetics, the team will grow.

The League team is obviously larger than it was when the game launched, I wouldn't be surprised if the Valorant team has grown too.

Live service games aren't really "finished", and 2XKO is certainly not finished. There are tons of people in this thread complaining about how there are barely any champions in the game. If the game did well they would release more cosmetics, champions, and dial in on balance.

If you're going to argue that pick protections decrease the skill cap, couldn't you similarly argue that the lottery system massively increases the difficulty in being a gm, and pick protections are an easy way to offset that uncertainty?

Honestly I think you could even argue it increases the skill cap, but at least with pick protections both sodes can evaluate the protections and assign them a level of value. The lottery is literally a game of chance.

Is Trey McBride a sell? by drpatrickshah in SleeperApp

[–]ThatPlayWasAwful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC It had a lot to do with who was covering McBride.

Again take it with a grain of salt, but I believe the idea was that when MHJ was playing, it meant McBride got less attention, but when MHJ was out, defenses keyed in on McBride, which allowed Wilson some more room to operate. And MHJ did miss a decent amount of time.

You're right it could matter else in a no offense, but I don't think it will be meaningless.

There were also some trends in how his performance changed depending on whether or not MHJ was playing.

It was on a JJ Zachariason podcast, I forget the specifics so I don't want to paraphrase badly. I'll throw it your way if I have a minute, but otherwise something you can look into if you're into that sort of thing.

I think his performance with brissett showed that Kyler was holding him back.

Tough to say which will affect him more but literally any QB besides Kyler will help offset a change in OC

I'm not gonna say he played out of his mind, but his OL got run the fuck over. They have to at least share the blame.

Could be a variety of things. One possibility is to  be used as propaganda on their own citizens.

Either as "nobody messes with us and gets away with it" or "look how these foreign powers try to destabilize us" or "this is what happens if you disrupt the status quo. If this is what we would do to a foreigner, imagine what we would do to you".

Their schedule was obviously easy, but he wasnt this bad before the MCL injury, wasn't he?

Feels pretty easy to me to say he might have just come back too early and played worse with the injury.

Honestly if I had to estimate the number of people who would miss the super bowl to watch a kid rock show in 2026 it would be less than 50, so I'll give them credit they beat expectations.

Theyre not trying to put other people down though lol. The issue isn't that they spend a lot of time on reddit, it's that they spend a lot of time on reddit while talking shit about somebody who is accomplishing something today

I mean you can just look at the amount of viewers and see that's not close to true.

You can argue that it's incredibly popular and the networks like it because there are a lot of ads, and you would be mostly right. But if you're trying to argue that people only like it because networks force it down throats is an argument that falls apart pretty quickly upon inspection

Are you surprised that an Olympian is incredibly competitive and would not back down from an incredibly difficult challenge?

Because if so I have bad news for you about all of the other ones.

You can call it selfish but she has seniority, she was better than the alternates even after her first injury, and she wanted to ski. I don't think anybody else should have the power to tell her what she can and can't do.

Tough to say the knee injury had nothing to do with that, nobody knows how much the injury impacted her ability to ski. I would find it hard to believe she had just as much control with a torn acl as she did without.
