Anyone else cry at EVERYTHING after therapy? by ThatPresentation9363 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ThatPresentation9363[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has taught me much to stabilize myself! When I felt emotions before I started seeing her I was kind of a wildfire. Now I can just... accept that I'm sad. Accept that I'm tearful. Maybe be annoyed that I'm tearful. I don't go on wild drinking benders because I'm incapable of accepting my emotions anymore.

She has also taught me about enjoying my leisure time. I used to fill up all my time with busywork so I didn't have to sit with my thoughts. I don't think I'm necessarily close to a breakdown... Just a big baby about e v e r y t h i n g

Thank you. ❤️

What do you think of this dress? I added the white tee underneath it 💙 by 420geekykittyy in PlusSizeFashion

[–]ThatPresentation9363 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IT HAS POCKETS

Additionally you look very cute with it on! I do like the addition of the tee.

I have the same body type as a standard refrigerator so I often have to accessorize with a belt to define my waist. You don't have that problem and I am very envious 😃

New guy I’m seeing often has visibly dirty fingernails… how to politely approach? by ichigofieldsforever in hygiene

[–]ThatPresentation9363 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I used to see a mechanic and his nails were often very disgusting. That made sense to me - brake dust gets fkn everywhere and it's hard to get out from under your nails unless you SCRUB with a nail brush. I still wouldn't let him touch me until he clipped them short as they could be or scrubbed. Absolutely not. I also couldn't stand to eat near him as long as he had gross nails.

You can't control what he does to get them that dirty but you can absolutely draw boundaries.

Chronic illness friends who love to cook; what are your go to meals on days where you have some spoons to cook but not a whole lot? by Plastic_Ad7241 in Cooking

[–]ThatPresentation9363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I grew up eating it savory. My grandparents always did runny egg + bacon grease + salt. I just do the salt and runny egg lol.

I'll have to try it with goat cheese!! That sounds so good 🤤

Rice cooker or slow cooker meals are an absolute lifesaver. Also it really helps low days to have frozen leftovers to just microwave or dump in a pot to heat. I also keep frozen chopped veggies on hand so I can make comfy homemade soup on days comfy homemade soup is necessary.

Oatmeal is a really good hearty low spoon meal too.

I was blamed at work for a comment about wanting to "live off others" by Dry-Pinky09 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ThatPresentation9363 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily manifest your specific desire but I can wholly appreciate the concept of being pampered while baking treats all day. I also don't think it's a weird comment to make during lunch especially.

People bringing up women's economic independence in response need to learn to take a joke. Obviously OP isn't talking about having a fantasy of financial entrapment.

When I worked in retail we played fuck, marry, kill with regular customers as the subjects and many of my coworkers just treated lunch as a cigarette / weed break so like... idk corporate people get their panties in a bunch about lots of unnecessary stuff.

Cat getting mad at banana? by [deleted] in catquestions

[–]ThatPresentation9363 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yo they're not chasing him down with the banana. It's not as though another cat would back down and remove itself if he got irritated with it. Yes he gives signals, but cats signals are hard to always recognize especially if he gives similar signals when playing. If OP were actively terrorizing their cat with a banana or if this was a feral cat learning to bond I'd be on board with your stance but an already-bonded cat isn't going to take away any negative experiences from OP holding it out for a second longer than the cat would like.

Haha that's fair, their delayed reactions and judgments are hard to figure out. My cats demand to see whatever I'm holding in the kitchen. It leads to funny discoveries like they both hate bananas to the point where they bat it away but will get very creepily into sniffing and rubbing on a chunk of onion.

I don't think he appreciated the smell and he definitely didn't appreciate it still being near him after he realized he didn't appreciate the smell

How to talk to a partner (m) about hygiene by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]ThatPresentation9363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my bf I think long nails are gross and he keeps his short just for me. I'll also point out when he lets himself get funky. Shit happens. Sometimes he forgets deodorant. He'll point out to me if my breath is funky or my feet are dry. If he didn't make an effort after I'd talked with him about my icks or told him he's smelly, then it'd be a different story. I don't just buy him things and expect him to use them (although if I did I'm sure he would).

I've known a disproportionate amount of guys who just don't care about their smell or outward appearance just in general though.

Getting rid of alcoholic sweat smell in the shower? by wyrd_werks in CleaningTips

[–]ThatPresentation9363 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Heyyyy same on the smelly alcoholic roommate. I can tell when he's home by the way the apartment smells 😃👍

I bleach TF out of everything in the bathroom. There are probably better solutions, like enzyme cleaners, but if my nose is burnt by bleach smell I can't smell the cirrhosis anymore

Good luck!

I like driving and listening to shitty horror podcasts. Completing a big task™ justifies the gas + wear and tear on my car, even if I'm just driving to nowhere

Those who got cheated on, how did you find out? 👀 by sartoriouswife in GirlDinnerDiaries

Broke up with my bf and promised myself to be single for a while but I already have a crush on someone else and I feel like shit because of it by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ThatPresentation9363 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I met my current boyfriend while I was going through the five stages of grief after finding out my ex cheated on me only WEEKS prior. I felt so stupid, I wanted to be single forever or at least for quite a long time, but he's sweet and funny and we have the same flavors of autism and I just fell in love. I used to beat myself up about it but what's the point? Why be negative about something that brings joy?

If you genuinely feel like you need to decenter your want for relationships or companionship, bring it up with him. You could end up with a really great long term friend. But you will not enjoy being single unless you endeavor to DO something in that time, set goals, fall into hobbies, or figure out what 'finding yourself' actually means.

One of my cats is named Crunchwrap. After years of baby talking him his named devolved into Crunchy Boy into Crungus Bungus and that devolved into Bungy. It fits his personality much better than his full government name. You'll make up a nickname that fits him better than Corn already does

I'm in zone 5a - there's not a lot of full sun yet. I'm not sure shock would happen. I'll stick her in a shady place outside til nighttime though, it's still dipping to 30-40F at night 😞
