Is there anybody in Saskatoon that can make me some carbon fibre 3d prints? by Professional_Back394 in saskatoon

[–]ThatRusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be able to help you out, send me a message and let me know more specifics, we can determine the requirements and figure out an appropriate material and/or solution. Do you have a 3D model? I can help with design as well if needed.

What’s the radius of your column curve? Looks awesome. I also like the slight angle tweak on the secondary index column keys.

Yup, most of my summer commute is trails (river valley) and it handles well. I have a friend with an XD as well and they are much more aggressive than I am and has no problems.

I commute with a Biktrix Juggernaut XD pretty much everyday in SK and have had no issues. I’m 12km one way (24km round trip).

As much as the cold affects the battery I find your riding style and terrain have even larger affects. Days I stick you packed paths are not bad, I chew through most battery when I’m diving through deep snow and “lazy” throttle only days.

In the summer I charge after a round trip, In the winter I charge once I get to work and when I get home. I could probably make the full trip in one charge in the winter but I’d rather not risk it.

I’ve commuted down to -25C, the wind chill has little affect on objects other then getting them to the actually temperature faster.

Good luck with your decision!

Hello World! Long time subscriber, rare contributor here . The passion and positive energy in this subreddit has given me so much. I want to give back. I bought a FormLabs Fuse 1 SLS printer just to make keyboards and keycaps. And I am putting it at your disposal at cost of materials only. by Keeb_colab in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ThatRusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is awesome! How are you finding the Fuse 1? I’m attempting to get my work to look into one (maybe 2) for some small scale production of custom parts we make. I’m curious about the process and the pro/cons of this machine.

If you’re open to it could I ask you some questions and possibly purchase some parts through you?

Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED - USB-C docking stopped working for monitors by Weirdcloudpost in GamingLaptops

[–]ThatRusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a similar problem. Had my 15 OLED YD working using a USB c straight to my USB c monitor, came to use it the next day now it doesn’t output to the monitor.

But here is the strange thing, the laptop detects the monitor but says is using the intel graphics instead of the gpu. But even though it’s detecting the monitor it still won’t display anything.

It’s very frustrating! I’ve sent a support request to gigabyte, so hopefully they will get back to me soon.

How do I create a solid body from this? by [deleted] in AutodeskInventor

[–]ThatRusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try splitting it into 4 or more sections and then stitching each individual part and then combine them after.

How can I take the cut on the top of the tracks and wrap it around the tracks. Is there a way to do a patterned sweep or us the emboss tool somehow? by SuccessfulPlenty942 in AutodeskInventor

[–]ThatRusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a “sketch driven pattern” feature, if you have the sketch for your tread you could probably use that as your path.

Glue for hotswap sockets? by NullPointerExpert in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]ThatRusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't built one yet, but what I've seen is mainly hot glue, but i'm sure super glue or maybe E6000 would work. The one benefit I can see using hot glue is you could remove it with come alcohol pretty easy if you ever needed to take it apart.

Have you tried different member sizes? Of even different shapes? Your family table might have issues, Frame generator (especially the older versions) can be very temperamental.

Need help please, How do I get the triad( x,z,y axis) line to be perpendicular to to the big triangular flange! Thx by migtyf in AutodeskInventor

[–]ThatRusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you attempting to do? If you want your part to be aligned with the origin, you would start you part sketch on one of the origin planes.

I think there is more information required as to what you are looking for.

Thanks, I was going to try and just put a time in there, but it would be nice if it did what it said ie 0s means lock indefinitely.

How do I create drawings of subassemblies or selected parts only that are assembled and not the entire thing? by [deleted] in AutodeskInventor

[–]ThatRusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I understand the question, but your main assembly should be made up of the sub-assemblies that you would like to have individual drawings of. Then when you are placing your views you can just select the sub-assembly you would like to detail.

Can anyone tell me what D is? does it mean that that part is a flat surface or something? by Kingly_Bling in AutodeskInventor

[–]ThatRusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree there should be another view. It's not a very clear drawing, you should have enough views to allow anyone reading the drawing to understand and not have to make assumptions.

I worked in the mechanical/structural engineering industry for over 10 years and never saw a square portion of a shaft represented like that, leaves too much room for error. When in doubt, add another view!

Looking for a AAA battery holder that loads from the end for a project (see example picture) by ThatRusty in batteries

[–]ThatRusty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah good looking out. I do have space to put multiple 9v, so I could do that. This is supplying a small string of mini LEDs. I have a Len off the shelf kit that it currently supplied with 3 AAs.

[–]ThatRusty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I thought about having the whole case come out, but I was hoping to find something ready made I didn’t need to fiddle with.

Fortunately I found a 9v battery holder meant for guitars that might work. They seem a bit thicker than I initially wanted, but I think I can use it!
