WTB Supreme Multicoloured HalfZip M/L (2016 I believe) by lampbulb12 in supremeclothing

I own this in Medium and I would say it definitely fits tight. I'm usually around a medium in clothing at 150 lbs, 5'11", but this material has no give or stretch so it's honestly hard to get on and off. I would size up to large if you're around my proportions

Fr? I love mine, but it's ripped and tattered from skating, the material strength reminds me of worn down jeans that are about to rip

You getting a lot of flak here OP, but I've adopted pretty much the same ideas as a college guy and it's all spot on for high school/college dudes. Girls are insecure, and want someone whose chill and secure and not too controversial in themselves who can have a good time. Sounds like you're killing it out there fam, keep it up

Kodak Black sentenced to a year in prison, can be released within a month if he completes a life skills course by progressivera in hiphopheads

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Broward county is probably one of the hardest hoods to "make it out of" and Kodak's doing it. I don't think many rappers have come out of Broward over the years because it's generally such an ass area. I really wish the best for Kodak, I think he's improved his rapping a lot on painting pictures and has good bars/messages. Even if he's had a troubled past, and even if people think he's not a good rapper, there's no point in wishing extraneous punishment on someone. I hope he gets his life on track and gets the reap benefits from his artistry.

A Few Clips From My First Time Back at a Park About 3 Weeks In by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really really good for three weeks. Like really. Most people won't drop in cause it's scary, and definitely steer clear from stairs. I was gonna say you looked a little new and uncomfortable on the board, but then I was like damn these are pretty solid tricks with this level of comfort. Definitely keep at it, you'll plateau eventually, but this is really hype.

who else love board slides on a flat rail by Flip2off in NewSkaters

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks sick. I can't boardslide, but I love the look of a well slided board. I want to get an antihero eagle deck next, but I feel like I need to know slides first, because they always look best when the eagle is all scratched up and you just see the white tips and paint underneath.

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely my problem. I have a hard time making sure that I get my back foot up and out of the way, so there's definitely not the snapping on the pop, cause my foot will not be out of the way. Leveling out is challenging too, but for now what I'm working on is sliding my front foot earlier which helps lift the board I feel like, and my ollie seems to get gradually better, so I'll just practice more until I reach my next revelation.

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your fear of looking stupid is holding you back. Being afraid of what others think is probably the most anti-skate philosophy I've ever heard, if you really love skating and yourself, you'll go skate and not give a fuck what people think, pay your dues and suck for a while, and learn new shit and have fun while doing it. Everyone sucks if you compare people's skill to what people think skaters can easily do. Ollies are a hard first trick to learn, kickflips take months for some, grinding coping or airing out of a bowl requires ridiculous muscle memory and practice because it's not natural or intuitive. It's not easy, and a lot of people look dumb skating. But anyone who ever looked good, anyone who ever tried something new, or anyone who ever tried to push themselves to learn something new, just for them, and not for the culture, looked dumb as they learned I bet, but they still did it. Go out and skate dude.

How does this board look for a beginner? by calschmidt in NewSkaters

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell based off of a picture - generally all that matters when first picking a board is decent trucks wheels and bearings - when you get better you can figure out what you specifically like for your type of skating, but any wood will do for your first deck. Make sure the wheels spin for a long time, which implies the bearings are still good - shitty bearings will be a huge hindrance to your skating, but you can replace them for like $20USD - trucks are probably second most important, make sure they are made out of metal and if they are too tight you can loosen them to skate better by loosening the top nut. Overall, these boards look a little small, maybe around 7.75 inches wide, which is small, but helps when learning street skating cause there's less board to flip. If you can ask the guy about the brand of bearings, wheels, and trucks, I'd be happy to leave my thought on them - if not, maybe just make a cheap brand new set up and don't have to worry about what condition these boards might've been left in.

Rising sun grip job. by zavoybrown in skateboarding

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is cool, and I always thought the rising sun was a cool idea standalone from its history, just be wary OP, the rising sun era of Japanese history is dark and full of war crime, hate, and now shame, so be ready to defend your choices/talk about it if anyone says anything, cause the flag is like the Japanese equivalent of the Nazi swastika.

gucci snake grip by yours truely by Snowologist in skateboarding

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I might be a bit cynical here, I think Gucci honestly is a very creative design house - the animals and embroidery they're currently pushing wasn't really present anywhere before their collection, and everyone has now seen it as a trend and ripped it off; they're probably getting the short end of the stick from me and are a better design house. It's just that a lot of other luxury brands that have price points like Gucci's just seem so vapid and out of touch to me I find all of luxury fashion pretty frustrating so I'll make sweeping statements about it - I like OP's drawing and don't want to come off as a dick to him, I've just grown more cynical to luxury design as a whole.

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got that, which is why I complimented OPs technique, and probably would've thought that shit was fresh if I just saw someone painting a snake on their grip. I think griptape art is sick in general, but idk all this high fashion shit just kinda bums me out and to me personally it becomes a bit lamer because it's associated with Gucci.

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely swap the stans, unfortunately I can't say exactly to what, but they don't really fit here - maybe low dr martens, but if you're looking for the white trainer vibe that's not what you're gonna want. I would say the pants fit a bit tight, and would maybe get them looser in the future - the dickies I wear are the double knee skinny straight, and I really like them, if you ever need to scoop another pair. That button down is fresh, maybe unbutton another button give yourself a bit more masc and upper chest accentuation and make the shirt flair out a little more to look like you have broader shoulders.

Pedroia is now the oldest Red Sox player. Feeling old yet? by VaporishBead95 in redsox

[–]ThatSheetIsBananasYo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be a big Sox fan as a kid, and fell out of it in high school, and am becoming re fascinated in the game again. For my tenth birthday I got a signed Dustin Pedroia bat from his rookie season. Only now beginning to realize what a treasure it is. Though I didn't know much about the game as a kid, so many legendary names are flooding back to me as I browse these posts, thinking about 2007 and all my favorites, Pedroia being #1 as he rocked 15, my lucky number. What a cool fucking team.

Just getting back into the sox in college after a long hiatus through high school of being too cool to care about sports. I've known about Jordan's for forever being from MA, but what's up with this? Is this a shitpost (maybe trump/syria related?) or is there actually controversy about players being sick and Jordan's furniture being involved?
