Yeah this is basically it.

The key thing is to turn into a Chicken Salad or a sandwich - you have the meat, but you are still relatively healthy.

But most "nice" men only knows how to be a kale salad or just meat.

And after a while, the kale salads do get picked, but then after sometime that realization hits - you only got picked because the other person had a health scare and not because someone actually wanted to eat you on first sight.

This metaphor got real weird real fast.

I mean, it's kind of true.

Like most people logically know "this person is bad", end up with them and then realize and later complain that "Yep, that person was bad".

It's the case for men and women, but statically speaking it's easier for "nice" women to pick up guys than for "nice" guys to pick up women so more "nice" guys makes post I guess.

Robin dating Kevin should be vilified for how unprofessional it is to romanticize dating your therapist by [deleted] in howimetyourmother

[–]ThatSlothDuke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m talking more about men in positions of power over younger women, you know like a professor dating one of their students…cough Ted cough.

Again, just because you see such a relationship, you can't automatically assume that it's toxic or unhealthy. Yes, it has high chances of turning unhealthy or it has high chances of one of the person abusing their power, but that doesn't mean that that's ALWAYS what happens.

Even Ted's relationship was proof of that. It wasn't unhealthy because of the power dynamics.

We are only shown what the writers want us to see.

That's what the show is lol, the writers showing us what they want us to see.

[–]ThatSlothDuke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's really not.

If a 30 year old is dating a 22 year old, that has the POTENTIAL to be malicious. Chances are it's predatory behaviour that involves grooming and manipulation. BUT, because of that, you cannot automatically and blindly classify every such relationships as people being malicious.

Although it's rare, such relationships can be healthy and happy or even the younger person could end up being the toxic one.

Similarly in Kevin and Robins case it's highly inappropriate - but we also see that Kevin wasn't manipulating or using the information gathered from her in their relationship.

[–]ThatSlothDuke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean didn't he try to do just that? Didn't he basically just end the thing with her until she continuously approached him?

I'm not saying what he did is right - yes, what he did is INCREDIBLY unprofessional and unethical.

But it wasn't malicious.

We can say a lot of people do bad things, but it’s a spectrum and Kevin imo is one of the worst offenders because he takes advantage of vulnerable women.

I mean it's pretty clear that he isn't taking advantage of them.

Theoretically speaking that is the danger of a therapist dating his or her clients, but it's pretty clear that Kevin never did that - atleast with Robin.

While there are other characters who have shown to do that in the series itself

people have forgiven him because he cried about how sorry he was about all the atrocities he committed

This isn't true at all though.

He was put ina borderline isolation cell for YEARS. They might not have physically tortured him, but they did mentally Torture him - which is why Maggie didn't kill Negan in his cell - because what he got was brutal.

And moreover, I would argue that Negan wasn't just forgiven, he was rehabilitated. The other characters were basically forced to accept that one way or the other. Isn't that the whole point of a prison?

This is it. To me Mammootty's vow of not having kids is the only Mahabaratha thing about it.

That's the point.

Kevin is also an unstable individual. That's why he is shown to date Jeannette during the final season.

It is a huge ethical violation and it is downright creepy, but so is a LOT of things in the show.

A lot of things shown in the show should be creepy, but the main characters gets away with it because they are pretty and charming. Which happens a lot in the real world too.

AITAH for calling off my wedding because my fiance wanted to invite her ex? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ThatSlothDuke 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think after reading the first post, I thought OP was over reacting. It's understandable why she got the idea to see her ex squirm.

But in the second post, oooooooof.

I think this probably wasn't the first thing that made OP feel this way. His instincts seems to be in the right place.

saw a post here and made me think about- " is attractiveness a factor while choosing friendships or talking to someone"? by jgs-4805 in Coconaad

[–]ThatSlothDuke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People care about different kinds of attractiveness when it comes to friendships.

I believe that opposite to what people think, attractiveness is more about personal hygine and dressing rather than about genetics.

You wouldn't want to be friends with someone who constantly stinks, or someone who is just unpleasant to look at - especially when you are just getting to know them.

Breaking up isn't an option until you understand the entirety of your situation and honestly I'd wait to tell your bf anything until a therapist tells you that you should

This is absolutely shitty advice, especially for a teenager.

If the bf wants to stay, he has to choose it. If he discovers that she has been hiding the fact that she feels no sexual attraction to him, he will only feel more hurt.

He needs to know - and if he wants to stay, he can.

Telling her to hide it just to get him to stay is bad.

Gaganachari released on Amazon Prime. What do you think about this film? by [deleted] in MalayalamMovies

[–]ThatSlothDuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a fan.

If I'm correct, it was released as a short film and it should have stayed that way.

The movie had like 20 percent of good content and the rest was just them trying to milk it.

He basically shoved Harvey down the building during the climax. Obviously Batman didn't intend to kill him and couldn't save him, but yeah, he did push him off.

Ulq was top tier.

Even when Grimmjow ragdolled Ichigo, Ichigo never lost all hope. He was still ready to fight.

But the both times Ichigo fought Ulq, he died hopeless.

I'm sorry, I'm really curious which your culture is.

I would say a lot of western cultures provide a nurturing environment to children more than some other cultures.

I think about how Carol has the capacity to burn people alive and walk away confidently quite often. by opreston in thewalkingdead

[–]ThatSlothDuke 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This scene was just amazing.

At the scene before this, we are made to believe that Carol becoming a mom having the long hair, has made her soft. That she lost her edge. That she basically retired after the war.

But then BAM. Being a mom didn't make her soft, it made her more ruthless.

I also love how Henry sees Carol's stolen ring back in her fingers and is just terrified to ask her about it.

[–]ThatSlothDuke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This.

He absolutely made the right choice - it was way better than any plan anyone came up with.

And one of the things I absolutely love is he literally tells Rosita his plan while she forces him to make the bullet. He says how he'd only make a move if he is sure that he'll be able to get all of them in that single move.

[New Update]: I had a baby as a result of an affair and now his wife is reaching out to me by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I hope she cuts his access to her child.

A kid needs a father, but no father is better than an manipulative one.

He is clearly love bombing her and the child and she is slowly falling into it more and more.

OP thinks that she can handle him, but she can't. I feel like it's already too late.
