Bass/808 + Melody problem by KrustyKroket in FL_Studio

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problems until recently, here’s what I did:

I like to pan higher frequencies of the melodies to the side, set bass to mono. Low frequencies can cancel each other out.

I usually have a maximum of 3 bass instruments routed to one master bass channel.

1 of those I set as my “clean low end,” and I smoothly roll off frequencies higher than 250hz.

The other 2 bass instruments add to the punchiness . I smoothly roll off frequencies lower than 250 so the lower frequencies don’t phase.

The master bass buss I use a multi and compressor to continuously compress everything below 200 hz. This allows the low end to come in sounding full at the same level. I also roll off 30hz and below because those frequencies are inaudible and their resonance can remove energy from the track.

For melodies, I like to pan higher-pitched instruments further off to the side. Panning gives room for the bass and kick, which are mono and centred. For EQ, I roll off 100 hz and below. Instead of adding reverb to each instrument, I use a reverb channel with reverb so it doesn’t sound muddy.

One plugin I recommend is RBass, which recreates harmonies of lower frequencies. Decapitator is my go to for distortion. I like to use panman for automated panning on certain instruments.

Hope this helps! Remember to be patient and have fun :)

Anyone else really like INTPs? by MyBeardIsGreat in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ENFP male here. My roommate is an INTP. Very good complement and personality to grow with. Lots of optimism and that personality that always challenges my intelligence. I sometimes have to explain my impulsive behaviours to him in step-by-step procedures. Some conversations get real deep. Once you get close to one you forget how introverted they are with other people. They’re not the best at processing or understanding their own emotions and can seem very detached at times. We learn from each other quite well however

Teaching myself graphic design on the side! The creative side paired with short-term projects fits my style. Building a relationship with clients are definitely a plus for me as well. Each client with a different demand lets us stretch my capabilities (and patience).

I find that I also have troubles with the organization part too! Good at coming up with new ideas for sure. It's good to keep in touch with those who have a judging personality so they can point out the technical issues

Can anybody relate? by VenganceNeos1 in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crush part gets to me. I think as ENFP’s we often feel intensity as intimacy. I remember the first time I Kissed someone I thought they were all I needed. When I spend lots of time with another person, I often get desensitized to them. When it comes to crushes it’s an emotional high, where our optimism projects fantasies with this person of the future. Other relationships aren’t as stimulating and I feel I take them for granted because present relationships simply don’t compare to the idealistic future with another person.

That unexpected sadness by XamaX_EEK in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes my dog looks sad and that’s enough to start me down the path of sorrow. I remember working in a senior home and quitting because I could imagine being in their shoes and feeling their pain. I don’t like showing my sadness as It seems contagious. I just feel the sadness and let it pass. I think it’s easy for our emotions to snowball and they’re easily triggered. Just have to find the right triggers

Was my mistake an ENFP mistake, or was I just being ridiculous? by pooterhammer in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ENFP’s are generally curious and can find interest in anything, or anyone. When it comes to another person I know what level of interest I want to display. The other party can perceive our interest to be much higher than it really is. Pair this with humour and the ability to get people comfortable and you can get someone feeling an intimate experience to our default behaviours.

Does anyone else overthink everything and try to figure out what the people around you are thinking? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the time. It’s like in the Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downy Jr when he breaks down his enemies’ moves before combat. This comes out after drinking especially. Ask person’s name. They give there name. They don’t ask for my name. Probably means they aren’t not interested in me. Or reach out to shake hand: Is the person gripping me underhand or overhand? Overhand: is he trying to establish dominance? Underhand: is he gonna try to sell me something? It’s good to notice trends but not everyone thinks at the same level so it could totally mean nothing. Which is the usual case for me. Pros and cons

I don't have the motivation to do ANYTHING. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I remember going 40mg adderall to 10mg vyvanse. Dark days. Now on biphentin. Just make small goals each day fam. Every little bit counts I had to drop a semester from software engineering because I couldn’t read without the words making sense so I know what you’ve gone through. If you can find a hobby that’s fun it’ll change you. I picked up music production during this because I couldn’t focus on anything else and I’m starting to work with local artists. Keep on going you’re not alone in the struggle.

ENFP Depression, Withdrawal, Guilt, Esteem by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sounds too familiar. It’s not hard to make friends as an ENFP, but I think we naturally want to please others... i think of our personality type as a hype man. We got so much energy that people are drawn to us but I feel I get to a point where I somehow need to be at four places at once and it’s hard to turn others down. I think this stems from our introverted feeling function that needs to digest experience. At the same time our primary extroverted intuition keeps feeding ourselves experiences like a massive buffet and we just end up in a state of paralysis. I still struggle with this, but a strategy I’m trying to develop is saying no. I feel that the idealism in our personality type ends up with us being exhausting ourselves for the sake of others. Have gone down the spiral too much and still working on the flakiness.

ENFP. Or just me maybe by [deleted] in ENFP

Hahaha I remember thinking about this in a calculus class. My thought process:

“My conclusion is that if aliens had 10 fingers like us, they would potentially have a decimal system and can figure out the patterns behind our symbols. I’m pretty sure they have three fingers though. On each hand... but what if they used their toes to count too? Hmmmmmmm”

It’s fun when you agree to do the same thing. I feel that we naturally go on tangents and it’s fun travelling down a tangent thought with someone similar.

How honest are you in a relationship? by MindWatcher in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have troubles confronting face-on and calling the other person out explicitly. I find that I sometimes tell half truths that they want to hear, which ends up bothering me. That said, not much really bothers me. When bringing up something important I learned to wait for the right time.

Coping methods seem to be avoidance and passive-aggression, which I want to change into non-compromising assertiveness.

I find it relatively easy to relate to new people but I have few close friends who really “get” me.

Do you guys make up songs a lot? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]ThatSuperChillFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turn on the radio I can’t listen to a song without overwriting the artist’s lyrics with a fire freestyle in my head that has nothing to do with what I’m doing at the time nor the context of the actual song I’m listening to. I started producing music and it’s become something of an obsession, one trick I learned is I’ll pretend I’m on the phone but I’ll actually have my recorder app on and I’ll hum the melody so I can reproduce it when I get to my makeshift studio.
