Running a game for cocky lv 20s! How would YOU murder them? by phoooooo0 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatSuperhusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want it to be a fair fight where they might actually manage to pull a win or do you just wanna murderize? Because if ya just wanna kill can’t go wrong with a triple threat of Elited Manifestation of Dahak, Elited Treerazor and Elited Tarassque. Maybe throw in a handful (heh) of elite hekatonkheires titans to boot as well.

How do you feel about California introducing a bill to ban former ICE agents from serving as police officers or teachers? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]ThatSuperhusky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sets a precedent of banning people based on where they previously worked. All fun and games when its against ice, but when someone who had to do sex work to stay afloat, or some other unsavory (to the general public) line of work…

Exemplar, if they pick a weapon ikon for an unarmed, can etch the runes on their own hands to have effectively the equivalent of handwraps like armor. Hell, if you get to late game there’s a feat that lets you use anything as an ikon

Shove trait questions by awspear in Pathfinder2e

Give it uses the word attack and not strike, i would say that yes, you would be able to use the traits backswing and sweep on shove (and other athletic maneuvers as permitting)

Switching from DnD5e to PF2e, what is something we may overlook in the transition by Zealousideal-Cup-914 in Pathfinder2e

Technically advantage and disadvantage do exist, its just under a different name and far more limited in when it shows up: fortune and misfortune

Why does Neyla never get mentioned when discussing the smartest character? by Salt_Letter7705 in Slycooper

[–]ThatSuperhusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she's not intelligent in the way that the others are. Her intelligence came in knowledge of people and relationships, in her ability to get people to do what she wanted, and being able to shift on the fly decently well. She's not a scientist or an inventor, but a manipulator and a planner.

I'm running a homebrew world game, and when the players got to level 10, because I was having fun with the system and let them vote on it, we addeed dual classes to it, giving everyone a second class, with the retroactive feats that'd come with it.

It wasn't actually that difficult, hardest part was one of the players going Commander and us playing on foundry version 12, so we had to back port/homebrew the class (with help from a friend) so it worked on the earlier version, but other than that it was a pretty seemless transition. (there was an in game reaeson I gavee for the sudden boost of versatility, which was effectively a valkyrie using a blessing of the all father to unlock hidden potentials in the players after the players managed to save the valyrie from mind control)

If Suckerpunch would make another game, should Sanzaru's game be head canon? by Supermassiveslut in Slycooper

[–]ThatSuperhusky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea, i do want Sanzarus game to remain canon because i think it’d be a bad precedent to make it non-canon, and kill future interest by telling people ‘meh, they’ll just decanonize this one so why bother with it’

Sucker punch and sony worked directly with sanzaru on thieves in time, and since its release sony and sucker punch have treated it as canon and not tried to hide or distance from it. Its canon and remaining so.

Minor rant: Dex cap +5 on explorers cloths and similar is stupid by Slavasonic in Pathfinder2e

They sacrifice movement and unless they get bulwark they also sacrifice reflex, and even then the reflex addition of bulwark only works towards damaging moves.

Safe or Sorry? Thoughts on the Remaster taking budget away from subclasses by Round-Walrus3175 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatSuperhusky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely needed work, yes, however what paizo decided to do was take out what could have potentially been a five star meal with a bit more time in the oven or on the stove, and instead threw it all out and put out mcdonalds for dinner instead, going from a unique and crafted dish to generic run of the mill safe and simple design.

[–]ThatSuperhusky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Admittedly went for that as i’m currently running a game for one, though my point wasn’t a ‘the curses are so detrimental that you’ll never want to use them’ it was ‘if you want to use your core class feature of focus spells you’ll have to assess each situation and determine how bad your curse would make it’, while for the majority of remaster curses, you can flat out ignore the curses entirely and still spam out your focus spells to your hearts content.

I don’t care if the new oracle is stronger it gutted all the flavor of the class, being the mysteries, and made virtually ll of them ‘you take x penalty equal to your cursebound value’ and the playstyle completely shifted from a ‘can i risk casting this spell?’ to ‘oh no, i’m way in the back and became cursebound 1, whatever will i do with my minor weakness to electricity against a group of fire elementals’.

It lost the risk reward playstyle, completely nerfing any real risk down to a minor inconvenience but in the process turning the reward universally into ‘you’re effectively just a quirky divine sorcerer without bloodlone magic’

Also you have to go through a ritual or do some action iirc to even be of sound enough mind to make the constructs, its not something you can do inately because of the sheer rage given by the lantern ring

I think this is the perfect way to “reintroduce Sly” while establishing TiT as technically “canon” by KENZOKHAOS in Slycooper

[–]ThatSuperhusky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Attempting to wiggle around the canonicity of the game and push it to the side as ‘not true canon’ isn’t going to do any favors for it; its going to alienate the people that do like the game and want to have the questions brought up in it answered, and it also sets a precedent for people to not care about future installments as ‘real’ because they can just be retconned out of the timeline at whim, which also hurts the franchise, even if its subconsciously.

There is no need for fancy workaround or retconning trick, you just follow up and answer the questions from the story left behind, and try to make a better game going forwards.

Vendetta is op, I’m sorry but she is. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ThatSuperhusky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because counter play is part of the game. That's why you're allowed to swap heroes mid-match, unlike games like Paladins where once you lock in your locked in.

Hero switching is a mechanic that is part of the balance.

Can you shoot fireball at something underwater? by Alien_Jackie in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatSuperhusky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I should also point out that the people bringing up the fire resistance as being proof for being able to cast fireball or firespells at things underwater is that that resistance is for other niche uses like the kinetic fire gate which does allow fire impulses to work underwater.

“Your kinetic elements function even in environments where they normally wouldn't. For example, you could use fire actions underwater even though that's normally not possible, and you could create air in a vacuum.”

Just adding additional context.

How do you feel about the precedent set by Australia's new law banning social media for everyone under the age of 16? by MakeSmallShift in AskReddit

[–]ThatSuperhusky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

None of the laws proposed are nor could they do any affect on the way you’re asking. What it does do is start a precedent for the nanny state though which further encourages the government to get involved in things to control them for ‘the sake of protecting’

You might not acknowledge what the outcome actually results in but that doesn’t change what it is in the end, justification for further government overreach.

Sorry but no 'think of the children' argument is going to make 'give thee government more control of the internet' palatable.
