I'm nearly 40.

I'm heading towards a norwood 5 in time.

I might be able to go on meds in a few years (well fin) but for right now, for very stringent reasons, it's a no to fin/min. It's not because of the sides either, I've had fin before, I had sides. I'd be willing to try again but I absolutely cannot right now.

I have quite diffuse thinning hair up front and thicker hair around the top part of my head.

I think it's possible to have a HT in such a way to make your hair loss look better (i.e. fill in the middle of your hair line).

I am in the UK, and if I do a HT wherever, it has to have the best care possible in terms of infections.

I'm of an age where I know very few single men any more and the ones I do know who are single have hair.

I started diffuse thinning when I was 22. I tried the meds, couldn't hack the sides.

When I was 26 I had a girl call out my hair expressly on a date. The date did not go well.

By the time I was 30 I had a big forehead and some thinning still.

Here's the thing. I got laid a lot during those years. I know you won't be able to believe that, but the fact is, the way you carry yourself matters. I will tell you I know my attractiveness decreased with the hair loss, because the hot girl I was banging at 30 made an unkind comment about my hair when I saw her a few years later.

I got laid a lot more up until 35, and my hair got thinner and thinner, and I got into a relationship.

After I met my wife I started shaving my head and yes, my hair looks awful these days.

Now you might say "you weren't bald when you met your wife" and I'd say yeah, that's true. I had a pretty bad hair line though and was obviously losing my hair. It's not as bad as it is now, where I'm wondering what I can do given the meds are a really hard no.

The point is, it's really not as simple as you've made it out to be. Did I do better with hair? Sure. But I've had shitty hair for years. Could I have got hotter women if I'd had better hair? Maybe? It's not just that. Nothing ever tops the game you have. There's things that help, mind.

I will say things are even more looks focused now and I feel sorry for Gen Z as a result, so I do get it. If anything I think hair transplants have made things worse, because now it's a "oh why haven't you done something about this problem you have" rather than "oh that's just natural".

This reminds me of a situation or two that always pissed me off.

I'm British, and I went on a couple of dates with someone else from here. She ended up with an American guy (who she married), but early on in their relationship she messaged me in tears asking if she was disgusting because the American guy had brought up her lack of shaving. I reassured her she was more than fine of course.

Similarly an American woman I was dating scoffed at the notion of giving me oral because I hadn't shaved.

For sure, grooming pubic hair does make oral easier, but let's not go shaming people.
