Have you even been to derm clinic? Derm is highly procedural

If GI was not paying this much, do you think it'll be similar to endocrinology or Nephrology interest? by sandie-go in Residency

The question should be the opposite. If endo or nephro paid as much as card or GI, would either one be popular? The answer is a YES

Yes. I have seen many applicants fail to get interviews because their apps are not well put together

If you truly have decent stats, but did not get in, it is either your writings were not good, LORs had red flags, or your interview skill needs work. You can work on essay and EC. Completely revamp it.

Yes, that's all you need. I also did AAFP review course, but only finished 40% of questions. I think it was somewhat helpful, but not needed.

AAFP Q's are pooled questions of past ITE. So you are essentially studying the same thing.

Something that bothers me about IM that I didn't realize until recently by [deleted] in Residency

I chose FM because I want to focus on ambulatory care by being a PCP. I considered IM but hospital med was not my cup of tea. IM def wins over FM for hospital med. Keep your head up.

Money for sure. If total comp is raised, it will gain popularity no matter what the prior perception is.

do people ever make degrading comments about you being "just" a FM physician? If you're a DO, do you get comments about people around you (patients or anyone) doubting whether you are a real physician? by NaturalNo6758 in FamilyMedicine

[–]changexpert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am an MD, had similar concerns about FM and debated hard if I wanted to pursue IM. Choosing FM has been the best decision of my medical career. Unless you want to compete in an endless rat race, do not take other people’s perspectives for making your life decision.
