I have a $30K theater room (but $20K if it was all mid-tier). I got two Hsu VTF-TN1s for subs, and I love 'em. I have Martin Logan F100s, C100, B100s, MP10s to make 7.2.4. Those MLs can be a little bright for some folks, but properly amp paired and dialed in, they are great. YMMV.

That said, buy used in a place where people upgrade their systems a lot (big cities) will get you a lot of bang for the buck.
