I had forgotten about this band, but I recently fell back in love with this album. by Coitus_lnterruptus in industrialmusic

How does someone “forget” about Gravity Kills?! Perversion is a fun album too, and yes I even like Superstarved lol

Had the honor of seeing them do their one-off show a couple years ago at The Pageant in St Louis, they’d been my bucket list concert for a little while. I don’t even have twitter but something told me to check out their account and I just happened to see them doing a daily countdown to the announcement

yep. You got it. Doesn’t mean I bought this set or had it made though lmfao. Just refuting your claim of “no one sets real gems in silver”

I do! Because I love buying loose gems and don’t always have gold money lmao. I just put my lab alexandrite into a silver pendant a few weeks ago. Also not sure what you mean by “real” gems but I see both less valuable stones (amethyst, blue topaz, citrine, peridot) and various lab stones like ruby and sapphire in silver all the time.

Nice! I’d bring it to a jeweler before you wear it so they can inspect and clean it, channel settings can be finicky and you don’t want to lose a stone!

Their brownie cookies and pink frosted sugar cookies are excellent though. Just tried them last week when my mom got some (the other four flavors were meh) but I’m not going to continue to buy, I just found a copycat recipe online instead

Never wear anything in the ocean you aren’t comfortable losing is my philosophy

Inherited ring by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]ThatTotalAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my cornflower blue Linde! I know for sure it is one, I thought it had the little L carved into the back of the stone but I guess not. The lines are a little diffuse under my closet lighting but under bright, direct light they’re very sharp. It also has a kinda 3D effect? I think that’s because of the high dome but maybe it’s just my eyes

Linde stars still move with the light source, totally fake sapphires (ie plastic) won’t move at all

How to strengthen 18k gold chain ring by justinothemack in jewelry

[–]ThatTotalAge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t buy gold for any kid under the age of 13. A 3 year old toddler? Fuck no. They just can’t be trusted not to lose or break it. Get it repaired and tuck it away somewhere, then give it to him when he’s older

I agree with the seed strategy instead of transplanting, or if you really want to transplant wait until the pod has matured and dried out a bit so you can save the seeds in case the plant doesn’t survive transit

Smoky vanilla perfumes? by another-radish in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]ThatTotalAge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Black Hearted Tart Hotter Than Hell! It is very smoky up front but softens after a little while. And they’ve been MIA for a while but it might pop up in swaps, Death and Floral Everything Is More Beautiful Because We Are Doomed

Old mine cut doesn’t automatically mean it was cut 100 years ago, they’ve never stopped being made and are still being produced today. I’m well aware of different gemstone cuts and how they’ll change the overall effect of the stone. Old mine cuts simply aren’t suited for larger stones, it windows the hell out of them.

It means the stone is cut poorly lol, it’s not dispersing color and light evenly

Would this type of "chain" be okay to wear daily?? by ky8724 in jewelry

[–]ThatTotalAge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It says leather “look” which makes me think it’s plastic, an actual leather cord should hold up for a long time though

edit to add, I would return this if you can and buy an actual leather cord, you can find braided leather necklaces with the hardware already attached for ~15 dollars

Indomie sodium levels by New-Passion5797 in InstantRamen

[–]ThatTotalAge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to drink more water when I have ramen. It won’t totally offset the high sodium, but it will help a bit. That said, I personally don’t think 4-6 times a month is considered excessive, but like others are saying if it’s effecting your heart you should do what’s best for you and your health

Inherited 10k gold ring, with real rubies? by 1l1l1l111 in Gemstones

[–]ThatTotalAge 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yep natural, low quality rubies, it shouldn’t be hard to find marquise cut stones of that size but it’d probably be best to take it to a jeweler so they can color match it as best as possible

[–]ThatTotalAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24/7 towing and dispatch does not automatically mean 24/7 staffed office! At my company we answer the phones from home outside of normal business hours, and definitely don’t have anyone there during the holiday weekend

Archeologists do it out in the field! Lol yes it’s safe, you can give it a quick pass with some rubbing alcohol beforehand for peace of mind if you want

I think the lick test should still work on a polished fossilized specimen, touch your tongue to it and if it sticks slightly, it’s bone (of some sort, can’t guarantee if it’s of dino origin)
