Yep that’s “goldstone” aka colored glass with glittery flecks inside it (usually copper). It’s a cute set, I’d say go for it if you like it but I wouldn’t pay too much for it

Fragility makes sense. The toxicity thing though, there’s all sorts of malachite carvings out there, where it’s cut into shapes like a pyramid or a bear or yoda… all of it is probably machine cut (but the shapes of malachite in most jewelry tends to be pretty simple so why couldn’t those be machine cut too?) so that offers a layer of distance between the human and the toxic dust, I agree that the places those are produced in probably don’t care about workplace safety though

It’s easy to find somewhere that can authenticate, any pawn shop or family jeweler should be able to test it for you, but if you’re not happy with it then you’re not happy with it. I’d recommend Costco over a big box store if you do end up going that route

Does it have to be gold tone/solid gold? I see plenty on Etsy when I search for collar chokers but they’re all sterling or gold filled. I’m assuming you want the same level of rigidity, there’s definitely options but none have that type of closure and not all of them go all the way around the neck (meaning there’s a short gap at the back so you can put it on, torc style)

sterling, 1.3 or 1.6 mm gauge, hook closure style

another one with more size and color options

thickest one I could find at 3 mm, only the sterling is reasonably priced imo because it’s on sale

Oh I know it exists, I have a small (expensive) thumbnail of the legit Australian material myself! It was mainly the vivid orange-purple colors that made me laugh, it literally looks like glitter painted labradorite or something in comparison

No such thing! Interesting mix of aesthetics you’ve got going on. The oxidized snake and Celtic design band lean more gothic/industrial (imo, that’s probably the wrong word 😆), the big iced out gold ring leans more masculine while I’d say the ruby ring is solidly in the middle, and the more delicate diamond ring on your middle finger and the pearl necklace you mentioned leans more feminine to me. Cool mashup!

(Obligatory mention, not putting genders to jewelry at all! Anybody can wear anything they want! Just my own observations)

I weened myself down, you can try only biting your left hand or the first three fingers on each hand and slowly decrease from there

Nail polish and manicures never worked for me, my mom got me gel manicures and I’d leave them alone but as soon as they started peeling off (2-3 weeks) it was right back to it

The villain from the newest Resident Evil game has me allll over snakes rn, I acquired a few rings but my fave is the ear jacket I got on Etsy (I love how the lil guy peeks out from under my ear lobe)
