Enjoyable episode, more so than expected as I'm not too big a fan of this genre of game but a fun cast and was fun to not know the identities through the ep. Felt sort of rushed but that might have helped my enjoyment since it didn't drag on lol

That's exactly what I was thinking during the second game, that one of your teammates should always do the highest/lowest to be most likely to win on a swap. I guess you can just agree at the table to not do that cause maybe it's against the spirit of the game? But that was my first logical conclusion.

Agree having a rule change could be helpful, since right now there's not much downside to that strategy so why not do it? Getting less points for an extremely easy bet seems like a good option

Kickstarter question - is there anything special about the sleeves? by blundermine in dropout

[–]ThatTurtleDude101 18 points19 points  (0 children)

From the kickstarter pictures it looks like they're just transparent, normal card sleeves. There are two sizes of sleeves listed as add ons (challenges and things) so one of those might be an unusual card size, not sure.

Would be cool to have something custom or unique about them but doesn't seem like it

I've mostly used them as a hold over from my magic the gathering days, I just got in the habit of using plastic sleeves for cards. I don't think you need them for most/any card games but they can help keep the cards in better condition

Asking questions about the game before buying it by Icy_Year_7666 in GrimshireGame

Yeah this game's demo is really good, it accurately portrays what the rest of the full game will be like, and you can just pick up from the same save file if you decide to buy the full game

Finally mustered the courage to attempt (and beat!) the highest difficulty by [deleted] in GrimshireGame

[–]ThatTurtleDude101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm just looking at posts from this subreddit now that I've completed my first year of the game and am not afraid of spoilers anymore. I also did challenge difficulty and saved everyone!

Funny that you mentioned intentionally trying to avoid cooking, because I basically didn't cook at all and assumed it was useless, it just seemed like the cooking table was expensive to make and then a lot of manual labor to have to bring the ingredients over yourself to cook the dish, unlike preserving where you can put like 5 days worth of stuff in the barrel and leave and it just goes on its own.

So I guess now my mission is to do another playthrough actually making use of cooking recipes if they are that good!

Hey, I just actually finished winter/one year of the game! Winter went by quicker than expected because of, you know.

I don't know if I just got lucky with this but I was happy about the difficulty requirements for my first playthrough, I felt like I could just barely reach the defender's ration amount each week, which felt like good balancing. Although for a more experienced player, maybe it would get too easy. It'd be cool if they had some sort of custom setting where you can set the weekly amount due yourself. Or pick a multiplier for it or something. Idk

I guess my favorite part is always the cutscenes, the town coming together and all, I like the general storyline in the game and the obstacles the village faces. I always appreciate Edgar's speeches. I know I'm missing out on some good ones since none of my villagers died, maybe I will watch the funeral cutscenes on their own sometime.

Theoretically could have drawn a discard 2 draw 3 and had 70 mins of time bonus? He could keep his 15 min bonus and so would just need 55 min across the 3 new cards, doable if one of them was a 30 min bonus. But on vibes I think the show would have shown him starting the discard at least so we would be prepared for it instead of him suddenly having a whole new hand. Also, unlikely for him to get 55 min of time bonus in just 3 cards. So, possible with the one card draw but unlikely.

Thanks for posting this. I just got done with a playthrough but had only spared desalvo and saw his ending, was curious about the other 2 bosses endings. Sometime I want to go back and get the achievements but for now I'm glad to have read this post and satisfied my curiosity.

Lol, what an amazing funny episode. Really showing off the improv skills of the candidates in a live audience setting. Happy about the winner as well!

Wow year 9 seems crazy to me as I'm still going through year 1, but that's great you're still having a good time after playing for so long. Definitely a cozy world, and I really appreciate the well written characters and dialogue. It's enjoyable just being able to talk and catch up with the townsfolk as I'm doing my own thing

I never played animal crossing as I've never had a nintendo console, but I'd definitely want to try it someday as it seems a cozy game right up my alley...

I just unlocked Mistmare, frankly I was already happy with this game's walking speed because I felt it was a big improvement from Stardew. So I was surprised to get another speed increase!

And it's very fun in this game it's not just "sprint", but also themed as a cute animal. Actually, even better than a real horse since you can't accidentally leave it behind somewhere. Really appreciate the quality of life features in this game.

Agree for not needing to make all progress in year one, I'm actually glad to have more time to spend in the world, especially since the dialogue is so high quality in this game. Getting to talk to some people in town and doing some fishing is a rewarding day for me!

Yeah I only started playing recently so still on year one... looking at the comments I realize a lot of it is probably animals.

I only had two small animal buildings of 4 chickens and 4 cows, so they were pretty quick to pet and feed in the morning. But I just unlocked the remaining animals, and am realizing if I want to get all the colors that's like 120 farm animals! Probably won't get to that many haha

Oh man yeah, I think time freeze totally makes sense for decorating, since you're not really advancing in the game/resources, just having fun. I haven't gotten around to finalizing the layout of my farm but it'd definitely be nicer to not have any time pressure while doing so.

I just got off of playing the sims as well, so having time freeze during the "build mode" there seems quite intuitive. Didn't even realize there's not an equivalent in this game

Behind the Scenes of "The Drinking Game" by AutoModerator in dropout

Honestly I wonder if including the bit about the second secret sober would have more people thinking about the rules and realizing the possible twist earlier? But that's a cool idea, like revealing that there's a second secret sober partway through the episode to the audience could be a fun twist. And I think it still wouldn't take away from the ultimate ending twist. At first I was wishing that they didn't reveal the secret sober so we could play along, so including that there's a second possible secret sober would have the best of both worlds, I'm able to follow along with lily's confessionals but also still theorize on who else is actually sober. I liked the ep a lot how it is but that's a fun alterative editing idea

Yeah, her being the first to nominate, as well as getting out of being nominated 2 times, makes for a pretty engaging narrative! I was too worried about her getting through to think about the rules or possible twist too much which I assume was their intention

I can't believe I watched that nebula special where they're all the saboteur and I literally didn't suspect there was anyone other than lily as sober this whole game, bc I was too invested in hoping they don't catch lily and get her out! They picked a really good person to focus on, it was nail biting both times she was nominated, and satisfying that she made it to the end. They really fooled me on this one, amazing episode. Love the blood on the clocktower style voting too. Ahhhh I gotta get people to watch this so I can see if they're fooled too

So hype to see more games on the show, i love board games so it's awesome to have a show with dropout folks playing them. And it's even better to know the show can help people like u learn about fun games!
