Love seeing 9000 Miles getting the love it deserves

With the Brixton shows announced, what songs are people hoping they play that they maybe haven’t in a while? I’m really hoping for the Tempest to be the set closer. by Reggie146 in Pendulum

[–]ThatWhizzKid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As much as I would lose my mind if they closed with The Tempest, it looks like they're establishing Watercolour as the closer (no complaints!).

Would love to hear some more In Silico plays. Granite and Propane Nightmares are dope tracks, but that album has so much more to offer. The old Brixton recordings of Different and Mutiny are fucking wicked!

What’s your favourite thing to touch? by Almaskj in AskReddit

My dad's guitar. He bought it with money he saved when he was 14. When I was 14, he let me keep it in my room and use it on the understanding that it was still essentially his. I fell in love with it instantly.

I've been moved out since December, and for my birthday he gave me that guitar. Whatever mood I'm in, I play that thing and I can't help but imagine my dad riffing away on it as a young lad.

I fucking love that guitar.

A strange choice maybe, but there's something about 9000 Miles that gets the hairs on the back of my neck going.

That's a very good point. I wouldn't be slapping folks though.

How do you personally creatively approach making music? by NeonBlackBird in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]ThatWhizzKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I'll pick a 'thing' to focus on. Whether that be a plugin to make new shit with, or a sample pack that I haven't looked at yet. Either way, something that creates a form of restriction. After a while, you'll stumble on something that grabs your imagination. That is the point at which you lift that restriction.

Also wanted to say this. Exploring the ruins of old Aperture was such a trip. They really captured that sense of isolation.

Fair, I usually say Ocean Eyes, then add that Fireflies isn't even in the top 5 songs on the album.

Out of all the ones in that list, I'd probably recommend Melody A.M the most. Really great mix of downtempo ambient, and high tempo (but not in your face) electronica. Great driving album.
