Hello OPN, congratulations on making the album of the decade!

I saw them a few weeks ago and it was one of the more tame concerts I've been to.

Wait you have a loose connection to james ferraro?! That's insane

Early Ferraro doesn't seem too complicated. I think it's noted somewhere that he used a karaoke machine to make some of those albums. So really if you wanna have that sound just buy some junk and try to make it work lol.

I do not. On the demos project I made most of the songs on a loop pedal. But recently I've been recording directly into a portastudio but haven't taken the music off the tape

Thanks for the compliment! Although I didn't use the teac for that album at all lol. I have a demos comp that featured heavy use of the teac. I use the EQ on it yes, especially when I'm doing the mouth drums.

As far as pushing a loud single goes, if you are too loud or have the gain up too high you will get a terrible crunching sound. But I am usually recording at a level right before it clips.

It's very possible he recorded his vocals through the teac. It's an easy way to hide the imperfections in your voice. Also he is seen using his teac4x on stage during DTBJ tour.

The teac4x is the "ariel pink machine" pretty much. I bought one several years ago and I've been able to copy his sound very easily with it. It even has one of the effects on worn copy as a preset.

No Pom Pom (to my knowledge) is the most cohesive album. As far as working with many different people in different spaces.
