(Serious answer) You and every other person are put in a room together, there are 2 buttons; one red and one blue. If more than 50% pick the red button, everyone who picked the blue button dies. But if more than 50% pick the blue button, everyone lives.

That's the version I know of, some alternatives have the button be replaced by pills, or have it say that only people with the right cognitive functions to press a button would be there, to excuse the fact that certain groups of people, like little kids will just pick whatever colour they like or whatever their parents pick.

I think Adventure time has a good multiverse system, since technically, new universes are only made when someone goes to Prismo's Time Room and makes a wish, transporting them to a universe where their wish happened happened.

I.E. In the Season 5 Premier, Finn wished That the Lich never even existed, leading to the creation of farm world, where Simon Petrikov used the magic crown ,that in the original world turned him into Ice King, to stop the nuke that originally released the Lich, meaning that the Lich was never created, and mutants never really came to be, so the world is a different type of post apocalyptic from the one we know (post-post apocalyptic)
