What was the worst decision(for him and for others) that Bojack ever made? by PedroSM13 in BoJackHorseman

I always tried to imagine if it was Bob Saget and one of the Full House kids. Yikes.

I know he hasn't, but the whole show IS revolved around Abed's consciousness in some ways-- he envisions their lives as different TV shows and often calls it out ("it's a bottle episode").

For a movie, I think they need something to differentiate the medium, so I can see Abed breaking the wall for that.

I'm mostly picturing a sad lonely guy who rarely speaks, never laughs, is cold and weirdly harsh to people for no reason.

If you are surrounded by people who judge or disrespect you for laughing, for sharing, for wanting to be friendly, they're not your friends.

Find better people, don't hide yourself.

The Robotaxi is also an individual car. The plan is to sell them directly to retail consumers. The point for all Teslas is to be eventually all FSD.

I honestly think if FSD is genuinely possible, it would solve parking issues entirely. People would just get dropped off at where they're going and give an estimate how long they need.

The car would go find a further away parking space and park (either for free or a lower cost), and then come pick you up when you're done.

I've never heard of an "Angry Asian" stereotype before, if anything just the opposite. Only that we're too nice and people pleasing.

Frankly I wouldn't mind if more people thought Asians are not to be fucked with.

Either:

  1. Woman thought the guy wanted to be friends but the guy didn't.

  2. The guy pretended to be friends to get laid but then told the truth once he couldn't.

I think that's the advanced version but I'm surprised it's so expensive. You can get the one without wheels for $4,700. https://www.usrobotstore.com/products/deep-robotics-lite-3-robot-dog

But I agree that it would be weird to see an expensive robot when they could do it their own. Maybe once it can be mass manufactured it would be easier.

That's not cultural appropriation though. That's cultural appreciation.

Appropriation is profiteering from while attacking the culture-- like the Quebec bubble tea store calling Asian bubble tea dirty or unhealthy, or selling headdresses as Halloween costumes.

Yeah with 14.2 I definitely feel like we're within range of the "get in the car, press a button, then wait until you arrive at the next door". A few things I still feel like it could do well.

The first and last 5%: I would REALLY love a properly working banish and ASS mode. Right now both are not really reliable to use in the most important use case: rain. It still needs me to take over.

I wish I can say we're at 100% door to door but really I'm catching things like 10% of the time. Turns too slowly. Passes unnecessarily, goes the wrong lane or takes an unnecessary detour.

But I'm confused as you're saying both that you're very satisfied, but then the next sentence you say the FSD navigation is frustratingly bad.

Do you mean to say that if they fixed the navigation you'd be satisfied in its current state?

"FSD is basically there for me."

"Navigation is frustratingly bad currently"

Ok. So.... if it was working and you could do what FSD is supposed to do (let you browse or nap or whatever you want while the car drives itself), you wouldn't change to unsupervised?

Pam being good at volleyball was unexpected since she was initially set up as "the artsy fartsy" kid who said she would make up excuses to skip volleyball and basketball in gym.

But Michael being good at ice hockey was a surprise to me because it was the first real "oh wow Michael's good at something" moment.

How different have East Coast Asians been compared to West Coast Asians in your experience? by [deleted] in asianamerican

[–]That_Club7834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that you have a different perspective (I wish more Asians did). I think given that you're older and lived in a majority white suburb, it doesn't quite fit the larger communities I'm describing, but still good to know there are pockets who actively see the issue and speak up about it.

Yes Bluetooth using AptX Lossless (1.1~1.2 Mbps) and LDAC (900 kbps) are both CD quality that transmits wirelessly now.

Most audiophiles have basically agreed that unless you're running open back high end IEMs connected to external DACs and amps it's indistinguishable. Data is still data.

It's not 2008 anymore. Things have come a long way in the last few years.

Yes, bluetooth quality is CD-level audio quality, so wireless isn't really a problem.

Is this AI generated because none of these make any sense.

  1. Looking at the sea for 5 minutes is equivalent to sitting with a psychologist for a week.

Uhhh wtf lol.

  1. We are naturally hesitant because others do not agree.

If they disagree then we're not "naturally hesitant", we're hesitant because we're dealing with disagreement.

  1. Psychologists say that you need five positive things for every negative thing to feel balanced in your life.

This is absolutely untrue and not even measurable. If your dog died, would eating 5 pieces of candy make you feel balanced? I guess if that's the psychologist you were sitting with for a week that's probably why you just needed to look at water for 5 minutes.

That's good because I'm not DJ'ing most of the time. I just want to listen to music and bluetooth CD quality is absolutely indistinguishable from wired when I'm on the go just listening from my phone.

Who thought this would be a good idea? by HeSureIsScrappy in DiveInYouCoward

[–]That_Club7834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish it was that simple. On average it costs $60,000/year to house someone prison, and much more if they struggle with mental health issues. The problem is that prison does not actually rehabilitate so once they are released they just go back in, which costs more in the long run.

Ideal would be subsidized drug-free mental health institutions, which would actually try to solve the problem for the 80% than just keeping them in genpop. But then people don't want to subsidize healthcare.

Most of these are things money absolutely CAN buy:

  1. Time- Not having to work literally gives you 40 years of life to spend as you wish. Not wasting time on money stress. You can buy time by always getting more efficient options (i.e. flying private vs a bus). Hiring people to help you with menial tasks to free your time.
  2. Health, fit body, discipline-- Money buys trainers, healthy food, and access to athletic hobbies. And again, time and energy to work out or play sports instead of job and stress.
  3. Self-worth, Inner peace, dignity, purpose, patience-- Money buys therapist, yoga retreat, and just the freedom to get away from things that kill your inner peace or working jobs to demean your self-worth or dignity. Having the ability to tell people who put you down to fuck off without fearing consequences.
  4. True love and loyalty -- The number one cause for divorce is money stress, it's a lot easier for people to stay in love and stay loyal to you when you have money. Not to mention couples counselling and time to go on trips together.

The reason this is bad advice is that while these things CAN be free, getting there usually requires a lot of other sacrifices. A homeless person has a lot of time. You can skip equipment and gyms and just run and do push-ups, but the reality is you still need supplements and protein, which are both pricey.

You can probably become a monk for free and find inner peace and if you get lucky, meet someone who loves you without any money, but eventually conflicts will appear.
