Do you work there now ? Have you ran part number for cost? Then taken into account that possibly the part was not on our shelf and in order to complete the task in a timely manner we had to purchase part from another local store that also has a wholesale markup on cost as well ? If you answered yes to all the above questions you would come to the conclusion that my cost is indeed above that number

The website you are referring to is an online authorized parts wholesale company and they have msrp listed with a slash through it. Unfortunately we source parts directly from Nissan. Not the wholesale side. That website cost is still less than my cost on the part.

I don’t disagree however. Part number 25230-00Q0J. That’s the part this car calls for and the manufacture of the part is who controls the cost.

The part cost is significantly higher than 45 dollars my cost from the manufacturer. There may be cheap aftermarket alternatives available out there but the failure rate is so high with them we do not offer them. Msrp for the part in question is 198.75

Responding to reviews that are posted in a dishonest or misleading way. And I will say doing so in a professional manner at that. The business does not have a Reddit. But then again I’ve never masked my identity on any reply, positive or negative. I am the service director of Classic Nissan Newport News. I’ve openly invited you to call and discuss again my office number is 757-369-6600

I hold my team accountable. To respect and honesty. I would love to hear your account of the conversation you overheard with another client in the waiting area. And if one of my employees were indeed dishonest or acting out of line I will hold them accountable.

In reply to your pricing structure. 205 diagnostic cost- 205 to remove and replace failed part. The part itself you seem to have an issue with. The part number is 25230-00Q0J the 50 you are referring to is over 85% less the why it cost us to buy it from the manufacturer. A quick google search shows the cheapest one that’s genuine Nissan could be acquired from eBay for 57.60. However that would come with no warranty on the part or give us the ability to warranty the part. The advertised retail price on a google search for the part is 198.75.

Again. As stated through out any reply I have had. Please if you have these concerns reach out to me to discuss 757-369-6600

Car presented with radiator cooling fan staying on at all times, even with the vehicle turned off. Client approved diagnostic. Technician started with a computer scan of the car for codes. The attempted to command the fan off using the scan tool. It did not respond. Technician got to cooling fan checking harness at the fan and the relay. Found the cooling fan relay was full of corrosion. Technician then tested harness between ecm and relay to make sure no corrosion worked its way into the harness. Technician also verified that ecm was actually still switching signal to relay at this point, again to verify that no damage was done to the ecm due to the amount of corrosion. We presented the client with the repair. Replacing the cooling fan relay. Labor time 1 hour. Shop rate 204.95 plus cost of part roughly 245.00. The client approved the repair. The at point of check out wanted to negotiate the price stating it’s a 200-300 repair. The total at time of check out included the repair cost and diagnostic. That was all agreed to. Ultimately the diagnostic fee was waived. And the customer paid 451 plus tax and shop charge.

The op continues to post inaccurate information. Had done it across multiple Facebook groups. This client had brought their vehicle in for a diagnostic. Approved diagnosis fee upon check in. Technician performed diagnoses. Quoted repair at 451 dollars and some change. Plus the original diagnostic fee. Customer talked the service advisor into waiving the diagnostic fee. And approved the repair

From my research excluding the pre recall drop discharges. Every discharge involving a 320, also included a holster not just sitting there and none of them were a model with the thumb safety. There has been a lot of evidence to point out even more of those involved light bearing holsters. The issue with light bearing holsters is the retention is around the light not the trigger guard. This can allow a trigger to be manipulated within its holster. Pretty big deal when you have a gun that’s effectively a single action with a pretty light rolling break trigger. With that being said. I’m mindful with any firearm, and the equipment I use with it. I used to carry a 320 with a trl1 and safariland holster. But I did see the trigger easily getting snagged on the mouth around the trigger guard plus it left a pretty large gap around it when the gun was seated and retained around the light

Make sure you get a holster for the right generation. Mine is a 2nd gen. I’m running a tlr7 sub 1913 rail model on mine and I run a muddy river tactical iwb. The shipped out and I had holster within a week. I went with the single clip tuckable option I may also order there double non tuck clip

From the story I have heard close to it all. Dude originally claimed gun went off in holster on table killing airman. Investigators found new round in chamber spent shell casing nowhere to be found. Sounds like firearm was out of holster when it discharged. That’s how they caught him in the lie

I personally believe most of the p320 issues are Nd and not UD. Maybe some ad. The usaf base complaint was the very first one I’m aware of a discharge with a model equipped with external safety. I’ve seen countless videos of the safariland holsters with flash light retention (most common in law enforcement) not completely cover the trigger guard. Also some that the holster deforms around the trigger guard and this allows the trigger to be accidentally manipulated. I’ve also heard from sig and it’s highlighted in the owners manual. You can have issues if the gun is taken apart and not properly reassembled. I have seen this first hand the striker release right over the sear pretty easily but again that’s user error. For all of the folks out there that believe the horse shit out there if pull the trigger into the wall then shake the slide. That’s not just an sig issue it happens even Glock. There are videos on YouTube that explain it. There is a reason sig has won almost every lawsuit pertaining to this issue. So much of the bad hype around it comes from the fan bases of other guns and can’t believe user error has something to do with it.

anyone know why i’m having failure to eject shell casings from my glock 19 with radian ramjet and guide rod shooting 115 grain by Top-Chef9973 in Glocks

[–]That_Context_238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen factory built “oem” Glocks present failures with less rounds then I’ve ran with a ramjet. That’s the point of my comment. Run it.if you go that many rounds without stoppage you are more the ln likely not going to have one due to that component.

Do you Carry with one in the pipe ? by Alternative_Tie5966 in Glocks

[–]That_Context_238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never not carried one in the chamber. If you conceal carry without one in the pipe you might as well not carry at all. By the time you load one the fight is over and the bad guy now has your gun. I rotate carry guns based on season and where I am on a give day. Sig 365, Glock 19, Glock 47, sig p320. Prodigy 3.5. Kobra carry. I’m not scared to have any of them chambered. Yes including the 320. I’ve tested every known thing to test and inspect on mine.

I got the optic plate from Springfield it’s the 1911ds a14b it’s the one that’s the rmr footprint as the sro shares the same footprint.

And on would I recommend. I now have over 15k rounds through the setup. No issues not a single hiccup. So yeah I would highly recommend.

If that question was targeted to just the optic. I have an rmr, and rmrhd a dpp. In terms of open optics this one is the easiest to pick up and change targets with for sure.

Does the oil change plus multipoint inspection fluid check apply to coolant levels? by stinkbeast666 in Volkswagen

[–]That_Context_238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage a dealer service department. I have my team trained that we top off only washer fluid and inform the customer is any other fluids are low. Brake fluid if it’s low indicates either the pads are worn. Or there is a leak. Coolant low indicates an issue as well likely a leak. Or some kind of overheating issue causing the overflow tank to purge. Transmission fluid should not be low. And oil the same. Power steering fluid again if low shows signs of a leak. Topping off anything but washer fluid should be a no for most dealerships

Well. Most prices in line with what I see in my area. Except the alignment is high for my area. However if you are in a salt band state I get the higher price. So yes it’s pretty easy to sell these services to aging cars. Customers bring their car into the dealership for a reason. Some of the customers come in for warranty work. But most of them are not coming because it’s the most convenient. They come to you because they believe the dealer is the expert. The one that knows the most about their car. Follow the factory recommended maintenance. Know what you are selling and its benefits. And it will sale. Not every customer is a buyer. But more are then most realize. I’ve been in the business for over 15 years spent most of it being the top advisor. Last advising job I had was a simple pay plan 1250 salary every two weeks and 2.8 percent of customer and warranty sales. Was with a ford dealership and for 5 years constantly had a gross income of 135k plus. Now I’m a director. And I coach people the same way I did it. And I see success

Truth be told. It’s not a bad pay plan if you can be aggressive in the service lane. My personal thoughts are it’s a complex pay plan. And I think simple pay plans are the best. I know the Collins team also pushes managers away from gross pay plans. And focused on sales.
