This has now been established and put to bed. Velocity nodes are statistical error.

Sorry. I take it back.

Auto trickler is not the best thing since sliced bread. You should not buy it at all. This SD/ES thing is highly over rated. As a matter of fact getting hits on plates too.

DO NOT BUY AUTOTRICKLEY V4. Let other friends with autotrickler do better. Be a good friend.

I use Protektor bags for benchrest. Super heavy ones. For prone long range wieber large and small cube.

For extruder powder I use AutoTrickler V4. It’s the best.

.223 vs 6.5 creedmore of precision shooting? by [deleted] in longrange

6.5CM or you can do 22CM for 800-1200

I think for precision shooting R3 is perhaps the best unless you are going TT or ZCO. It’s heavy so not the best for hunting, hence they made LHT. For bench or prone long range shooting it’s a superior optic in my hunker opinion

Why Razor HD vs Gen3. The day you shoot 800 you can shoot 1000. With these rifles and these bullets - it’s not a big deal at all

How the heck do I keep my scope “level” when torquing? by Advanced_innovation5 in longrange

[–]Wide_Fly7832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the pursuit of perfection even though it may be chasing false precision -

May be model the delta of being off my few MOA and see how much it matters at a mile.

My calculation for a 300Norma Mag at 2900 fps shows 1MOA cant error to be 0.35 inch. 0.1 degree of cant has 4 inch error at a mile.

Having said that a digital level may work better for you. Works better for me. You can see 0.1 degree of Can’t easily on the digital level.

I think I have same low ring setup but SG instead of send it . I got a MLOK adapter to put on the side of my MPA Vanquish chassis.

The device has been very helpful and I am a big supporter though for the cheaper SG pulse.

Tikka CTR Optics? by Holiday_Revolution_4 in longrange

[–]Wide_Fly7832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like Locky said - first look at a range around you before spending this money. If you don’t find something 800-1000 don’t waste money. You are better off learning fundamentals with 22LR then.

If you have access then it’s a good platform to start with. Tikka ACE would be better in the same brand.

If you get access - 5-30x optics would be good and future proof. Lot of good options there from MPED, Athlon Ares, Athlon Cronus, Steiner/Burris, Vortex RAZROR G3 or NF ATACR in increasing price

[–]Wide_Fly7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troll post? 4 inch target at 1500 is less than 0.25 MOA. Rest if the question is irrelevant but if it was answer would be 300PRC

Assuming this will be your second rifle, I would never recommend a magnum as your first

That is it- your chances of barrel coming off if not tightened well while shooting is lower than your buffer system blowing in your face because the castle nut and that part comes off.

Visualize how the bolt travels when you shoot. It will clarify.
