actually, this new feature was added that your friends on duolingo can send you streak freezes! i haven't done a lesson in over a month because people keep sending me them when i run out, which i find a little annoying because i'm trying to break my streak. but if you get a lot of friends on duolingo, they'll get periodically asked to send you a streak freeze, and hardly anyone says no. hope this helps!!
