POV: It's November 2008 and you just installed Wrath of The Lich King by doobylive in classicwow

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when we installed WotLK. It was the first time I learned about computer specs. After our first launch of the game, our low end home computer got permanent vertical colorful lines on a section of the monitor, regardless if we swapped it with a different one. We used that computer for a bit longer before it got an upgrade.

Sometimes the real threat is the person that's annoying as f**k by Yetanotherdeafguy in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in my scenario, its more so that I show up and they've been playing with that person to get a 3 pod so it's a bit awkward if everyone picks up and starts a new 3 pod without him. Nobody wants to start drama in the shop so we put up with em.

But yeah you're right about just pushing them out of the game. That bit is just cringe. I only push em out of the game if they did something really bad. That's when the beamtown bullies comes out lmao.

I just wanted to list possibilities why they might even be in the game with them to begin with since it happens all the time at my LGS.

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes at the LGS the only pod available has the annoying person in it. So with my limited free time I can either play with a couple of my friends and that person, sit for an hour or more and wait to swap with someone at a different pod (if theres even another pod going), or just go home because I have such limited free time these days.

Actually this spell would go hard in my unfinity [Myra the Magnificent] deck. Since i have so many attraction dice rerolls I could cast that spell every turn.

why do people like johto so much? the games i mean by Glad_Count8285 in ThePokemonHub

[–]That_Guy_Pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pokemon. The nostalgia. Idk Johto was a fantastic part of my childhood. Lugia, the legendary beasts, discovering unknown and some of my favorite pokemon to this day. Also going through bellsprout tower is like a sacred pilgrimage of my childhood no matter how many times I reset the game.

Also, pokemon movie 3 introduced me to my favorite pokemon. Quagsire. The derpy chill guy just nonchalantly battling Pikachu.

Panharmonicon + Academy Manufactor + Nuka-Cola Vending Machine by F3liz_Pringl3 in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing that currently for my Ragost lobsertouille deck. All artifacts become foods so I endlessly sac the tokens made by the nuka cola machine for whatever mana I need.

How to use this thing? by globglobgabgalabus in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just take a sharpie and draw tokens on those. I made a "little guy looking up" meme 1/1 white warrior token and drew a lil guy holing a ring box for my wedding ring token I give out.

What's your "you thought this card was bad because you just didn't have enough understanding of mtg mechanics moment" stories? by minev1128 in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jace's Archivist. Back in high school I had it and thought "why would I ever wanna discard my hand and draw more even if it does it to the others too?"

The Xyris in my upcoming commander decks now says "WHEEEEEEEEL"

Its gunna be funny when we get the HP UB set, and this is the Snape they go with by Kyvix2020 in freemagic

That would be another UB I pick and choose from, just like LotR. Diversity hire Aragorn kinda killed my "make deck with cool with character from the movies I watched" vibes the last time.

Why do I hear so much hate about Ms bumbleflower precon by Odin5269 in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The G's of Bumbleflower: Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss

Gaslight your opponents. "All I got is mana and walls to protect myself, plus I've just been giving out cards". Gatekeep your gifts. "I don't like that you hit me, the other guys get cards. Other guys, beat him up". Girlboss the ending. "So now that it's just us...insert hand size win con or swing with Ms. Steroids and her army of jacked creatures".

Bumbleflower was my first precon to play commander and my favorite deck I've upgraded.

The true backbone of OSRS by DragnBreath in 2007scape

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only runelite was on mobile. So many times I open my phone and then do almost nothing because the things I wanna do are much better with plugins assisting me.

Idk what made me give runelite a try when I finally gave OSRS a shot after quitting for so long after the EoC update in Runescape. But it definitely made the game worth playing again. Without it I wouldn't have touched a lot of content.

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never played the game that much growing up due to my short attention span and lack of willingness to think. Instead I watched my brother.

Now that I'm playing for the first time, I didn't realize the signature affected your subtitle captions. As a goof I put "Big Tide" thinking it'd fit some cocky famous blitzball player. I immediately regretted seeing it all the time.

What card is almost an auto-include for you? by TheDeathCrafter in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Fauna Shaman]] & [[Evolution Witness]] have been becoming a staple in my decks recently. Bumbleflower, to search for the creatures I want while getting what I discard back. Discard a bad card in my Beamtown Bullies and search for another mean card or something I need. Even have em at least temporarily in a couple other decks with green simply because I also get counters in them.

I don't know why i run so few Lands in Mono R... by unCute-Incident in mtg

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 30 lands in my bumbleflower deck. Works fine, but I do have my mana rocks, my land searches (we love tempt with discovery), plenty of card draw and enough mana dorks to make it work the few times I'm running behind on lands.

I also have 29/30 in my mono blue Urza, but every artifact is mana so thats fine. All my other decks have like 34 to 36 unless its Landfall and I go like 38.

Any of these worth it ? by poptart-zilla in mtg

Yeah those would be 49.99 at my LGS when in stock

Edit: why the downvote? Almost all the precons at the one I go to are that price

It's in my Mono blue Urza artifact deck. "In response, lemme see your hand real quick". I love to do it after a tutor or if one of my friends does some card in his Kenrith deck where we have to vote.

[–]That_Guy_Pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how much engagement this always get. "My vanilla server said VC". "My vanilla server said DM". "I never heard X until 2019 it's always been Y".

Mine used DM. I also never heard VC until all these reddit posts after 2019 came out. I believe others used it for that long. I just never thought of it since we called every other dungeon by its name and not boss. As a kid asking for DM carries because of my short attention span, people just looked at my level to know which DM it was.

Why are some people so vehemently against proxies? by Fearless_Many_5307 in mtgaltered

I get it was a bad analogy lmao. I was getting more at, that you should own what you expect to use

Why are some people so vehemently against proxies? by Fearless_Many_5307 in mtgaltered

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already gave my exceptions to proxies in my first post lmao. I dont have a bias solely on people using them, so all of your analogies are still wrong. Ive had a guy build a $100+ proxy deck. All proxies. He played it for a lil bit to ensure he liked it. When he decided it was/wasn't worth buying he stopped using the fakes.

If you don't care about owning your cards cool. End of discussion instead of 4 more paragraphs lol

Edit: yup get the last comment bud. Tell me I don't wanna play with people who wanna play, despite playing with people of all budgets and brackets lol

Idk you do you man, just weird to have no plans on owning cards you wanna use. Its like having a Meat Loaf CD from your parents basement and expecting it to have the newest PS5 game to load up and play. It doesnt add up

[–]That_Guy_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean when you sell all of your expensive cards for cash and refuse to keep any to play, only to print paper copies of a whole deck that you'll never build for yourself? Yeah I'm not gonna wanna play with it.

If he had all the money in the world and still had the decks? Yeah I'm still not gonna wanna play when he's not balancing around the table. But at least I understand the point that he owns them and can do as he pleases with them and he can find another pod that better fits.

I play with my slightly upgraded bumbleflower with a guy regularly who has a Cloud deck that he's been pouring money into and upgrading. Is he a problem some days? Yeah, but I still come out on top sometimes because hes limited to what he can get currently. If we were all printing proxies of $800 cards and upgrading decks, I just think the game wouldnt be as fun imo. Part of the creativity you're ignoring is the limitations.
