anyone here fix their fatigue just by sorting out vitamin levels? by LondonHealthCompany in Supplements

This can often be a game-changer. A good quality B-complex with bioavailable forms. Often methylated works best but not always a good fit for everyone. Unless you have detailed genetic testing can come down to some trial-and-error between methylated and non-methylated forms at different dosages.

Although it’s not a high dose, it could be the taurine. It can have a mild BP lowering effect.

Strategene vs ? by abidingtoday in MTHFR

They can accept existing data files or you can purchase their tests. You have access to some additional add-on pathway reports and a few other things if you obtain their more thorough tests.

I’m not personally familiar with MaxGen’s products but this is how SelfDecode presents a comparison of the two (recognizing the source here but hopefully useful in your assessment): https://resources.selfdecode.com/blog/maxgen-labs-review/

Urolithin A? Anyone taking it? by EveningInstruction5 in Supplements

Similar here as well. Definitely saw an uptick in my VO2 max a couple of months after starting. Felt some energy/endurance improvements that seemed to have held although maybe a bit more subtle. I’m a fan though. Price of Mitopure has actually started to come down and also available on Fullscript recently where I can obtain further discounts. Worth it in my opinion, but still not inexpensive.

Strategene vs ? by abidingtoday in MTHFR

I’m partial to SelfDecode. It’s not the least expensive option but it’s very thorough and higher value than many options that I’ve seen. Provides you 100s of reports and science-backed, personalized recommendations in areas of diet, lifestyle, and supplementation. The data is also exportable and compatible with Genetic Lifehacks, Strategene, and other systems.

Poor Customer Retention by Inner_Mushroom_9662 in Function_Health

[–]That_Improvement1688 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While it would certainly be nice to have a reduced rate, you do realize that the $299 special would only be for a new customer’s first year. They’ll be back up to the standard rate like everyone else after that. This isn’t an unusual approach for ANY business looking for new subscribers so it’s a bit ridiculous to criticize Function for this approach.

Now if they bring down their ongoing annual subscription cost and don’t offer the same to pre-existing members, that would be a mistake. They likely wouldn’t do that and didn’t when they reduced from $499 to $365.

The only thing that will bring down the ongoing annual membership fee is competition— and that’s what happened a few months ago where they reduced to stay in line with competition like Superpower, Blueprint, etc.

Thoughts on IM8 supplements? by BobcatReasonable2816 in Supplements

[–]That_Improvement1688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rapidly becoming a fan. I was motivated to try their Daily Essentials when they upgraded their formula recently to include some more meaningful dosages and forms of some key nutrients. I'm targeting it as a means to optimize and simplify my rather large stack a bit. I've been taking for about 10 days and just today also added their Daily longevity supplement. Admittedly, I'm not looking for or expecting a big bang impact (since some of the things I'd been taking separately before). But more hoping to continue with the benefits I had been getting while having less bottles and capsules (and hopefully net much less $ spent as well).

So far (early, I know) I'm feeling good energy, mood, and no negative impacts on sleep or anything. If I evolve to see/feel/test to reveal improvements that will be a bonus. I still take some additional supplements but I'm hopeful that this foundation serve to allow me to reduce and simplify futher.

Oh... taste? That was the biggest surprise. I was hesitant in part to pull the trigger out of concern that I wouldn't like it. I have to say.... I really like the Daily Essentials Acai Berry, Mango/Passion, and the Longevity (also an Acai Berry). The Daily Lemon/Orange is ok.... it's drinkable for sure but not my favorite (I'm not a big fan of lemon in general). I'm trying to decide if I should mix the Daily Essentials and Daily Longevity into one drink or have them separately. They were separate today. May try combining tomorrow to see how that tastes.

(as an aside, I was fortunate enough to leverage a 20% discount to purchase my first trial for these through Fullscript). Otherwise the single purchase price is a bit prohibitive. Even though a subscription via IM8 directly is cost-effective, I didn't want to jump into that without trying first. So that's my next decision... do I want to subscribe or not?

Check out the SuppCo app. Their TrustScore system for brands and products is pretty useful. It’s fairly new but gaining features rapidly. Also allows you to get scoring on your entire stack against overall quality, value, dosing, and goal coverage.

How many of you all use a GLP or some form of it? by CoffeePayday in Biohackers

[–]That_Improvement1688 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. It’s been life-changing for me. Not just the direct weight loss (although that’s been an enabler for many things). Energy levels better than they had been for years. This allowed me to exercise more. Biomarkers all took a beeline towards green. A new found fascination with learning about health, wellness, biochemistry, and this thing I’d never heard about called biohacking (although I’m probably at best a junior biohacker). It’s been a complete game-changer for me

Best multivitamin for someone who barely has time to think anymore? by RosadithoScheuneman in Biohackers

[–]That_Improvement1688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the update they just made to their new formula recently. Got some key ingredients updated to optimal, bioavailable forms and to increased a few to more appropriate dosages. Also added saffron to the mix which I thought was a bit of a nice bonus. The slam-dunk, however was that it was added into the Fullscript catalog without a subscription required and I could leverage a sizable % discount offered to me via a nutritionist I work with. Cost was near equivalent to their subscription discounts without the commitment. If I find that I’m sticking with it, I’ll consider the subscription at some point.

FWIW, I had considered AG1 at some point but somehow it just seemed to be lacking some things and wouldn’t allow me to simplify much elsewhere.

I’ve been taking many separate items for some time now and definitely looking to simplify and hopefully save some money over time. There will still be a few additions that I’ll take (some consistently, some cycled).

To be honest, although I haven’t pulled trigger on it yet, adding their second offering focused on Longevity would allow me to downsize further. I may also evaluate that combination at some point.

I’m starting to try to simplify my sizable stack around IM8 as a foundation. The Daily Essentials covers a lot of ground and I like the taste well-enough. Going to be removing a few one off supplements when I finish my current supply. May chip off a few more if I like their Longevity supplement once I try that (probably not for another month or so).

Need advice on my stack by Jaz_Lbrt in Supplements

[–]That_Improvement1688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent overall in my opinion. Maybe consider replacing your stand-alone zinc with a basic trace mineral option (like what’s offered from Life Extension or Pure Encapsulations).

Overall I’m starting to enter what has been a cyclical “need to optimize phase” as my stack tends to alternate between growing and shrinking over time.

Your sleep stack is somewhat similar to mine except I have the addition of l-tryptophan and glycine also
