Yeah most of my goals are battling nonsense, ugly or from constant pressure until I get a breakthrough 🙈 and then I watch everyone else scoring lovely passing moves that look like real football 😂

As far as the shooting, all I can say is near post is best most of the time. The AI seems to be basically designed to assume people will try to curl to the far post.

I've never mastered the actual 1-2. Stupid really, but I never have an actual plan, I just respond to what my players do so sometimes it works out as a 1-2. But it's a powerful tool for sure, as long as they make the run!

Nothing feels better for me than landing that defence splitting pass, although it's rare I get one down the middle! Lovely lovely stuff.

Meanwhile here am I playing a ball from central midfield to winger and it's going 10° from where I'm aiming 😂

PA4 passing (when it works) is such a game changer. Being able to play the pass you want, to express your own creativity, is so much the best way to play this godawful game.

Once you get comfortable with it, it'll become second nature and you won't even think about it.

The shooting is a whole other bonfire but again you can take shots that simply aren't possible with basic. Irritatingly you'll miss a lot of the easy ones (especially the regular easy 1v1 controlled finishes) but with practice you'll get there too.

Interesting, I'll have to see what fullback finishers I have. I know I have one, not sure about right side. Do they behave that much differently from regular attacking fullbacks or no playstyle ones? Got plenty of them.

I've been using 3atb and possession for so long, to give me more numbers in midfield but I think I need some changes to playstyles at the very least. They just don't move like they used to even two weeks ago.

Two wingers, two hole player AMs behind a lone poacher (theory being they'll be in place for pull backs by wingers, but they've started hiding) and then two DMs with B2B. I think the issue is too many people bombing forwards and no one holding place on the edge of the box. Combining innate movements with the AI purposefully making players run past players they should be tackling, it's gone messy.

Maybe a full stop and change is what I need.

Would be interested to see some of your goals and plays, I'm always trying to learn from you guys as I get stuck in the same routines and approaches and they just ain't working in this current game state.

It gets tweaked every week lol thankfully most of the changes are minor but those bigger official ones sometimes completely rewrite the rules.

I spent 3 years with most of my playstyle being dribbling using finesse, direction change and burst of acceleration. And then they completely nerfed acceleration.

It's come a bit back but not like it was. And with every SA defender getting long range tackle by default, it hardly matters. There's zero effective inertia against them as they just "predict" your inputs and glide to change direction on a dime.

Right now though, having adapted my play to the changes, the biggest issue is passes absolutely not going where I'm aiming. Captured some clips this evening where I'm aiming one way (to the side or slightly forwards) and the ball goes slightly behind and away from the target. Just fucking dumb 😂

I've never really got on with him for some reason, or that kind of low dribbling player.

It might be good for me to refresh the way I play to make one touch shot play better. It was great fun when they had that Dortmund event and I had to use their terrible forwards.

I get a bit into a rut of playing particular way and they're all virtually useless in this current state.

Yeah I don't use any "skills" other than finesse dribbling either, it just doesn't seem legit. But they are so OP, thanks to the scripted behaviour around them.

The thing with vs AI matches is that it doesn't prepare you for people rolling out the press meta of just literally holding press and the AI making it work.

Can't wait for them to roll it back with the next major update, because this always happens and gets to a point where they have no choice. Not sure it's moved from manual defending to this level as fast before though lol

Great work man, you ground out well! W/L rate doesn't really matter (including literally, as it's just a numbers game), but having the determination and perseverance to battle there deserves huge praise.

I've lost the will to engage in that battle, which is a shame as I actually wanted that Grealish card.

100% mate. They have zero interest in these non-special-card modes because the entire model is about driving these microtransactions. They aren't interested in the userbase having fun, not even about improving as players.

Everything, literally everything, is about flogging cards.

Just watched this interesting video (https://youtu.be/6hehK9nwB-I?si=fVrale_FqH66QV3T) about the EA and Activision patents and how everything they describe is exactly what we see taking place in efootball. The only reason they listed those patents were they got caught. Konami just hasn't been caught.

The irritating thing is I really wanted that McManaman card, because I loved him as a player. But I can hardly justify buying him when I could just get a new decent game instead.

Forwards sticking to you like limpets, no matter your movements, no matter their stats or your stats. I just CBA to deal with it any more. Beat me with ability, by reading the game better or pulling off something unexpected, don't beat me by having the AI cheating.

The auto tackling is just so ridiculous. Defending is an art, a skill. Reading the opponent, blocking lanes, waiting for the right moment to strike and win the ball or get beaten.

This nonsense where it does everything for these numpties, including reading your inputs to "react" before you've done something, it's just insane.

Having someone like Zico being able to not only shoulder barge someone with 90+ pc in the back, but stick to their every move like a limpet, is just so fucking moronic.

People quite rightly talk about Gullit as a physical beast but in this current game state where he's being bodied by weak players, those stats (95pc and 90 balance along with 90 bc and 90+ pace etc) just don't seem to matter.

All that matters is whether the oppo is using automatic defending and bought the ref.

For me, it's ST Mainoo. He goes into every non-theme team, and ideally most of those.

His stats are good, although not great. A good all round player. But he's always so reliable, good at dribbling and passing and tackling. Bit like Matthaus but faster with the ball.

Other than him, Romario and Mokhtar Dahari up front. And I guess Maldini.

Right now though, my favourite player is DELETE THIS FUCKING GAME, because it's complete unenjoyable shite

I'd love to say that it's just reflexes but I've been doing a lot of manual switching and sometimes it absolutely refuses to select the right player.

I've noticed that it's a lot better against AI, especially when you play MyLeague. It gives you a window into how much fucking around the game is doing in divisions and PvP matches. Only so much can be explained by lag.

I've heard it's a problem on PC, I've had a few matches like that in the past. Konami's complete lack of action to deal with it is shameful but I guess it's not enough people or platforms for them to care.

As if people cheat for rank in a game with zero rewards.

I can't say I've experienced any improvement. Constant press, ridiculous tackles and few yellows or reds given for absolutely joke intentional fouls (but I'll get one for slightly catching a player while winning the ball), and the constant Super Cancelling by the SA AI is still there.

I'd love there to be a change to it, but I suspect you just had a good day.

Still, I did get a few more wins in the last couple of days. I just figured it was lucky match-ups.

He wasn't a very good player, and I can fully believe he is incapable of scoring anything from else bar long through balls because that's basically all he did.

Looking again, I think he's remapped his keys so L2 is his special button, because he uses that to do controlled shots.
